Watching your Mega Man dubs just makes me which there was a Mega Man TV show based on the Archie Comics, not the abomination of an animated series we seem to be getting next year. There are so many great stories to tell in the Mega Man universe. I just wish the whole series was a lot more popular and a lot more mainstream. I guess what I am saying is, thank you for dubbing these comics. You did a really good job.

If I can be honest, I think it's too early to really judge the 2017 animated series. Especially when we've had barely anything to go off of outside of one picture. Turns out there's a zeroth law in robotic, and if I understand it correctly Elec actually has the right to attack.

Unfortunately, in the Mega Man series that wouldn't work. The original three laws are encoded as _actual_ laws, with zero consideration for unexpected situations or the zeroth law (which wasn't even introduced by Azimov until later on). As such, in the Mega Man series legally all robots have to be hard-coded to follow the original three laws _to the letter._ Even if the zeroth law was added, the problem is that the zeroth law doesn't have a written clause that states that it takes precedence over the first law, so even if it was in the Mega Man series a robot that takes action against a human in order to follow the zeroth law would still be found in violation of the first law, and thus be subject to immediate termination and its builder held responsible. It may be implied that the zeroth law should take precedence _because_ it's the zeroth law, but you know how lawyers are. So, the result would be: Emerald Spears Member: "You can't do anything. First Law of Robotics: A robot must not harm a human, or through inaction allow a human to come to harm." Elec Man: "But I can. Zeroth law of robotics: A robot must not harm humanity, or through inaction allow humanity to come to harm, and your actions definitely count as harming humanity." Later On... Police Officer: "Dr. Light, we're going to have to take you into custody. Your Elec Man attacked one of the Emerald Spears, and even though I'm sure he had a good reason he still violated the first law." Dr. Light: "I'm sure he was following the Zeroth Law, so the first law isn't an issue." Sleazy Lawyer, who happened to be there and is on the Emerald Spears' payroll: "But does it say that anywhere in the text of the zeroth law? Nope. Don't drop the soap, doc. And I think your fancy electric doll will make a fine addition to my trophy room once the batteries are removed."

I’m wondering if 20XX just translates to somewhere in 2000-2099? I read somewhere that X was built before the 22nd century, but sealed in a capsule for 30 years so I’m guessing in 2070 X was built, and the events of X1 don’t take place till like 2120’s……. 2020 is too premature for the types of robots these are. Atlas is pretty advanced but it’s going to need a genius to make it like Rock/ Roll

I still don’t know if Rock or Blues are considered what we today would call Artificial General Intelligence, or “general purpose A.I” or if the Robot Masters are just a form of Narrow A.I designed for a certain purpose and can’t do anything outside those parameters??? @@bassplayer807 From what I've seen, the general consensus is that the Robot Masters are fully capable of problem-solving on a human level but have no actual will of their own, taking orders and fully carrying them out, which suggests a highly trained genetic algorithm with a complex set of inputs, outputs and parameters. Rock/Megaman seems to be a bit more advanced, with the ability to actually make his own decisions, but still seems to require basic directives. Canonically, Blues/Protoman is a fluke - his full sentience was a glitch caused by an interaction between his power system and his computational circuitry and couldn't be replicated until X and Zero. This isn't very realistic, the canon basically describes Blues's power system as using a form of nuclear energy with a short life span that would leak radiation upon failure, which suggests a Radioisotope Thermolelectric Generator - a very stable and fully analog system requiring none of the complex control systems of a reactor since it relies on the natural decay of radioisotopes. Even if such an interaction could result in sentience, the power system would lack the necessary complexity to enable it.
