Well, that is kind of a goal. In Legend Mode and they have over 5000 HP, and I need all the options that I can get to not prolong the battle because the longer the fight goes, it became impossible to keep up the morale mentality and not mess up real bad, especially against Libra Scales and Wolf Woods. Furthermore, you only have 7 slots for Best-Combos and some of them are hard to set up, especially fire-based combos so deleting them would be a waste of time and effort. Hence, the reason to use a Best-Combo from a brother instead of your own. If this is Normal Mode or during PvP, I wouldn't use Best Combo because there is no enemy counter mechanic and out of respect for good sportsmanship respectively I actually have 5 goals when fighting DX Bosses in Legend Mode. 1. I must perform counter hit at least once. It really sticks to me as a habit ever since I played Mega Man Battle Network 5. Since it is Legend Mode, it is okay if I can't perform counter hit on all attacks that can be countered. I just happened to be lucky with Pegasus Magic, Dragon Sky and Andromeda to get counter hit on every of their attacks that can be countered. 2. Prioritise counter with single hit standard card first. Only when seem impossible otherwise, then Multi-hit standard card will be used. Because not all attacks can be countered with multi-hit cards that hits in one place, especially if the targets are moving in a straight line. Furthermore, it is boring to use cards like Sticky Rain all the time for a counter and it undermines the capabilities of other cards such as Ground Waves and lobbing bombs. I would love to use the lobbing bomb cards first, at least once for achieving counter hit if possible. However, in Legend Mode, the counter window are much shorter than before even for static target like Dragon Sky and Andromeda, which would make it almost impossible to achieve with skill. 3. I should finish the opponent with Best Combo. Preferrably I want all attacks in Best Combo to hit but if I perform so good in battle, it is okay otherwise. 4. I must get the admins to praise and acknowledge my attacks as best combo. So it must at least use 3 cards and do 300 damage. In other words, the cards cannot be Boosted by Star Power (including Attack plus and paralyze plus star power) and not of Mega/Giga class. Andromeda is the exception since she is the final boss. 5. No damage received besides barrier getting removed. I wasn't intending on this goal initially because I knew I will mess up badly in Legend Mode. But then, I feel like it wouldn't be satisfying if I can't do that much when recording videos for PvE battles.

I played the game at least 6 times to fill in the brother slots. It wasn't really necessary since the Star Force DX patch introduced a way to use yourself as brothers albeit greyed out profile picture unless you maxed out at level 100. This feature also works as designing a specific Best Combo, with Freeze+Break being dominantly OP in Star Force. I, however, wanted to have the vibe of having real brothers that I don't have to edit the profile so often unless I wanted to use Best Combo, which I need to delete them and then reregistered them again. Since unlike Battle Network that does not rely on brothers, save files in Star Force had its own unique ID that prevents you from registering more than 2 of the same brothers on another save file. Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection save files is tied to your own account For the second question, it is MelonDS since it supports online features and doing PvP. DeSmuMe can also do it apparently but I couldn't figure out the right setup to configure its online features.

Why do you use Pegasus in the overwhelming majority of battles in your videos? Is it just that much more powerful than the rest or is it some reason outside of optimization?
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 Жыл бұрын
Putting aside from personal preference for said form's design, Ice Pegasus just happens to have a charge shot and SFB that does not cause flashing and interrupt Bosses' attack without super armor or status guard (Wolf Woods and Hollow). It just gives me time to slow down their pace everytime I used SFB or quick enough to interrupt them. Even Pegasus cards are super good to put some OP combo. Freeze+break combo is somehow the most powerful combination compared to Bubble+Elec and Grass+Fire for single hit cards in Star Force 1 and 2. Plus, in Legend Mode, most Bosses are vulnerable to Freeze but some are immune to Bubble (Cancer Bubble) and Paralyze (Crown Thunder).

So the good strategy is to use invisible in most of the bosses? (along with having perfect timing, though that's something I can't do so easily)
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 Жыл бұрын
Kind of but what is important is the timing to use Invis by knowing how long it will last, how long each turn takes to fill up custom gauge and when to reactivate it. Because of this, it is vital as to not overextend your turn after activating Invis at the beginning or at the end of the active turn. In Legend Mode, three Bosses (Wolf Woods, Hollow [does breaking damage] and Andromeda) have attacks that can pierce Invis. Timing counter hit is something you have to learn progressively and make a habit out of it, which is why there is a story mode as well as farming battle cards/zenny from all the viruses. It was to train and nurture that skill. This also helps you learn the limitations and benefits of all the cards as well as memorising while adapting to enemy's attack pattern. Plus, having more resources are vital for deck building. On top of that, there are Star Force forms, each with different abilities and fighting styles. E.g Fire Leo is about going full offence, dealing more damage in one hit with Fire+Grass combo. Against Bosses, you do not want to achieve more than 1 counter hit per turn because Atomic Blazer cause I-frames. If you can grasp these concepts, you can plan ahead regarding what cards are good for counter hit, how to use the cards effectively and which Star Force form works best with the appropriate cards against which boss. You can start in normal mode to get a rough idea of these concepts and improve from there. In Legend Mode, you have to go with a different approach all together and figure out how to deal with the annoying moves that were given buffs on the bosses. Best-Combo is a must against DX Bosses because prolonging the fight is disastrous if they have more than 4000 HP. Sometimes, going counter-intuitive like using Ice Pegasus against Crown Thunder or Fire Leo against Pegasus Magic can be surprisingly helpful in Legend Mode. PS: If you need any more Legend Mode tips for Bosses and my take on the approach. Check out my post in TREZ tinyurl.com/2kbmu2df

Exactly. I can't believe I even went that far, especially for the Best Combos and playing this game more than once on different save files. That is how precious Star Force save files are. The Wolf turning red berserk mode was exclusive only if you applied DX Patch. It does not work on vanilla games of any region. All you have to do is make a full circle with the directional pads in either clockwise or counterclockwise direction as input command anytime before he howls or the camera stops moving. If you succeed, you should get a confirmation sound (exactly like the ones from Radar Missiles if there is a target that fulfill the condition) and induce Blindness status on the target that has no Status Guard.

One question: Why do you keep becoming invisible during the Andromeda DX fight?
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 4 ай бұрын
Most of it because of the star cards Recovery 300 giving me 3 turns worth of I-frames. I also max out my power up data so I have fast gauge throughout the whole fight, meaning one turn last about 5 seconds. The main reason is that dodging the projectiles feels inconsistent with reaction time where you could just slamming face into one and Fire Leo from just tear enemy down with Break buster (in this mod) most of the time. Also all of them have elemental attributes to remove Star Force forms.

@@hiroran9796 Hmm nice. Yeah, not sure how I would feel about making Star Force 1's bosses even faster. It's also a reason why I kinda staid away from something like Apollo Flame DX(even though I somehow beat his Sigma form in 3).
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 4 ай бұрын
@@DentalPlanger Star Force 1 Card Library actually shows higher damage potentials than it actually is with Star Cards. That's why this mod rebalanced it with giving bosses in Legend Mode faster movement and inflated HP, to give it a fair challenge that works with the mechanics introduced in this mod. Otherwise, this whole mod trivialised everything without giving players a challenge to plan their decks and executions because how fast you can shred through their HP with little to no effort. Though I admit, the fun ones in Legend Mode for me are Harp Note, Crown Thunder and Pegasus Magic. I rather not do a Boss Rush fights video in Legend Mode because I prefer different approach and combos when fighting each boss. Apollo Flame and most of SF2 Bosses have very tight windows as it is while the card library and Tribe System in SF2 didn't do enough justice to work fluently with the bosses combat design. In this case, Apollo Flame's regular attack is always in a different lane than Megaman and in the back row, makes it harder to hit him in his Counter Window consistently with most of the standard cards, aside from Flicker Kick through Zerker's Card Charging mechanic to remove flashing property. In SF3, a lot of these problems are mitigated thanks to the abundance variety of card library, combat approach with closing gaps/creating holes, noise gauge allowing hitting through i-frames, and the sheer amount of abilities you can equip for Megaman. In SF2, your customisation is limited by the essential ability like Super Armor/Side Select/Auto Lock cost 600 LP each (no variants like SF3 where you can obtain its cheapest through 100-250 battles with every Noise change), which makes Rogue Tribe the most worthless for any customisation. In vanilla SF1, you can't do any of these because its locked to some peripheral and your power up forms didn't change the combat approach.

Good morning, I apologize for my bad English, I know it's been a long time but my question is how do you make the combo have more cards? I mean the legend card, what would be the method to be able to put the largest number of cards?
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 7 ай бұрын
Good morning/afternoon/evening to you, wherever you are. 1. To make Legend Card/Best Combo have more cards is to fight an EX/SP Bosses (or in this case, even DX Bosses count) as base Megaman. Meaning you can’t use Star Force form at all. 2. No Mega/Giga Cards is allowed. Because they don’t count. Only use standard cards. 3. To get only specific card to appear in battle when you pulled off counter hit, your deck must filled with only one type of attack card. The rest of the deck must be cards with no attack power displayed, which is either recovery, stages, attack plus, paralyse plus, invisible and etc, if possible white cards. If you don’t have enough, then that is where mirror brother came in on this patch, it allows you to create brotherbands with yourself and access the roulette in battle. 6 brothers is plenty enough to create a best combo. 4. Go into a boss battle where Bosses have high HP and easy to counter, such as Taurus Fire, Wolf Woods or Crown Thunder. 5. This one may require save state so you have to empty your deck as much as possible, leaving only your brother cards or attack cards in hand and survive the fight without dealing too much damage on the boss. 6. If you deck out on either top or bottom row, just retreat and restart the fight until you got all those attack cards in hand. 7. Start counter hit bosses with the first 6 cards, you should get a bonus card for every counter. Once you done counter 6 times, just make sure all the bonus card lands a hit, doesn’t have to be a counter. Then win the fight. 8. You should get all 12 cards in records. Some damage may be higher or lower if the attack miss or not within optimized range, especially multi-hit cards. 9. That should cover how to get 12 cards registered as best combo. If you want to get higher damage value, you need to use panel cards like grass/ice ahead of time before you start your combo. You also need mega weapons that inflict status like Bubble/Freeze/Paralyse like Magic Breath/FM Bracelet/Bubble Fist to increase the damage even further with their charge shot before landing an attack card. 10. Just remember that Brother Cards calls the Bonus card from your deck. For example, if you use Flicker Kick 3 from Roullete but you only have Moai Fall as the attack card in deck, then only Moai Fall will appear as a bonus card.

@@hiroran9796 Good again I have another question, you make mention of white cards, where can they be obtained?
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 6 ай бұрын
@@nestorbarros8712 a lot of non-attack battle cards like recovery and etc are usually gained from green mystery waves like BN Green Mystery Data. You have to refer to TREZ (The Rockman EXE Zone) website for which place has them specifically. Basically every time you pulse in just go at every major road and dungeon, (ignore the small comps with the same generic room) and farm all the GMW that always respawn. But it doesn't have to be necessarily white cards to make combos work. Just any non-attacking cards (no attack value) will do like recovery, barriers or song card. Its just easier to deck out as much cards as possible with white cards. Even without white cards, you can make those 6 of those non-attack cards from yellow to white by making them favourite for your main folder in battle.

Great job on the run! Quick question: How much damage Max can the Blaze Charge do? You would probably need the Strongest Standard there is. I think the Charge Shot by itself is a flat 150 so the Max is like 400. (800 for Wood enemies, and 1600 if said enemies are on Grass Panels.)
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 Жыл бұрын
It should be 450 with Giga Mine (300+150) if they have no weakness, making it way better option for biggest one hit damage than Atomic Blazer Star Force Big Bang since it cause break damage. Blaze Charge works for all standard cards including screen dimming cards as long as they have attack value. It only takes the base power of it so using star cards or adding power/effect is meaningless because it cause I-frames anyway.

When you do the ice breaking best combo, why do ice panels appear under the enemy before you attack with Aqua Edge? When I made this best combo I ended up being Freeze Knuckle because I assumed it was the strongest chip that did a freeze in one chip, but you seem to have found a way round that by somehow making Aqua Edge spawn ice panels. Makes me kinda frustrated since I farmed the Best Combos out to be fully optimal with the bonus cards (so while yours has all 7 last cards be Jammin' Punch, I reset a bunch of times until I got the 1 in 64 chance to get the perfect chip order) and my OCD is going to demand me to go do that again now, as it does sometimes -_- Oh well!
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 Жыл бұрын
Answers to 1st paragraph: Because in Star Force 1, the panels type beneath and status effect on the Bosses also gets recorded when an attack gets landed on. So ahead of time you can use Ice Stage before starting all your attacks in 1 turn. Freeze Knuckle is only 10 damage lower than Tidal Edge so overall, you just missed out 30 damage on non-fire Bosses, which you can easily compensate during battle. Answer to 2nd Paragraph: What you need to know is that cards in brother roulette will NEVER appear as Bonus Cards from Counter. To narrow the bonus cards down to one, you need to put only white cards, recovery cards or any cards without attack value and just put in 4 same cards that you wanted to appear. Your only enemy now is just the RNG of deck arrangement because once either top/bottom rows runs out first, you're pretty much screwed if the card you want were all on the bottoms and etc. I did the same thing as you before (especially with only element sword) but I figured out there are more combos I want to try even if their damage isn't as optimal to the theoretical combo. But some are too good to be replaced. My persona preference was the Tail Burner 3 + Heat Ball 3, all on grass, which took a lot of time to perfect it. It wasn't until I played Star Force 2 that I realised, I needed a real brother to store Best Combos and needed multiple save files. I considered doing vanilla SF1 due to being able to set Giga/Mega as favourites but give up because it wasn't worth it without the massive QoL in DX patch and you're limited to only 2 Gigas per folder but. However, I did managed to make it work as well albeit differently.
@lefthandedscout9923
@lefthandedscout9923 Жыл бұрын
@hiroran9796 I'm aware of the brothers trick - I had to use it to get 6x FireRing3 on the Custom Screen for my fire best combo, for example. That one doesn't take any RNG besides from getting the cards in the correct Deck splits for the top and bottom halves of the folder - you just get the 6 Counter Hits and you're all set. But for technical combos between chips with status, it gets complex - to get a specific result like that on the bonus cards it ends up taking a bit of luck and there's basically no way around that. I think the worst RNG I had to put up with was for my Aqua element Best Combo, GigaFreeze - that one was absolutely awful, because I wanted the combo to be 5x Tidal Edge into Blue Ink as my custom screen chips, then Ice Burst into Blue Ink to get three full power Ice Bursts, then a Tidal Edge to close out my bonus cards, for 2430 damage, 2100 of it being Aqua Element. That required a prebuilt folder that only has those three chips, 3 copies of Tidal Edge in folder and 4 of the other cards to try to make it more likely for them to show up without killing the odds of getting Tidal Edge at the end. Then I needed 3 Brothers set up with Tidal Edge as favourites, that had to spin correctly and land on that, and then I had to hit all the counter hits. I think that took me over 20 days to record, but it ended up obliterating Leo Kingdom DX so it didn't go to waste, I suppose. If it records the panel under and their status, doesn't that mean it's optimal to freeze them last turn with a Freeze Knuckle, drop an Ice Stage, go to the custom window, take Jammin' Punch, and go in with that, so on the Best Combo when you use it, the enemy will start frozen? Or does it not let you cross over statuses in that way?
@hiroran9796
@hiroran9796 Жыл бұрын
I see. That's some interesting combo. I didn't thought about it that way. Yes, indeed when you have more than one type of attack cards, the RNG is going to be the enemy there. I have the same problem when setting up Tail Burner 3+ Heat Ball 3 on grass against Crown Thunder where I want the last six cards to be Heat Ball 3. Yes, it will as long as that opponent has no status guard (the Admins and Andromeda) and the other bosses aren't immune to Freeze status in Legend Mode. The only downside is that you missed out on 1 bonus card and have 11 cards instead of 12 because you cannot do counter hit on opponents while they are in a status. And to make matters worse, in Star Force 1, only Magic Breath can freeze but for 1 second while being RNG with Bubble or nothing at all. Then Jammer Punch had at least 20 frames of start up animation before the attack hits, excluding us doing lock-on if the bosses are not at the right distance to just spam A.
