Mega Man X - Sigma's Fortress : Stage 1 (Plus Item Collection)

It is time to go and ring Sigma's doorbell... or something! Well, after collecting the last two things to get in the game. Using the maverick order I did allows you to only have to back-track for one item, the heart tank in Chill Penguin's stage! After that, I go and obtain that one super secret weapon thing which one-shots bosses... I COULD have chosen to exploit this thing a lot more in the recordings than I actually did, I usually kept it for just quickly dealing with a maverick I already used their weakness on before.
Now as for the stage itself... this thing is huge... HUUUUUGE! It is also the most out of place stage in the entire game... It just has this totally different feel to it and flows completely differently than any other stage. All the other fortress stages just do what you would expect them to. On top of that it has two bosses and a maverick re-match since this game follows the first Mega Man game's style of re-matches.
First up is Vile, who still cheats and cannot be stopped no matter what you try to do. I did at least tease him with a nice little endurance fight though... but I got bored so I just let him hit me after awhile. Once you are actually able to fight him he is a bit of a wuss.
Now, I know some folks are gonna be saddened by what I did to the spider... I just really hate how long that boss fight drags on for, even while using its weakness! I do not even find it all that hard to beat without taking a hit, so if people really want it I could add a little additional video at the end to demonstrate just how long the fight normally goes on for. Seriously, as long as you can analyze the line patterns fast enough, you will never get hit.

@Nintendoggy My guess is, since Armored Armadillo's stage is painfully obviously the best for life and energy farming, Capcom likely expected someone to play through it several times before finishing the game, thus getting that capsule as a surprise eventually! After all, folks did find it before GameFAQs was around!

That might be red oil or some kind of red liquid. It might be blood like you said. Remember that they live in the future, so their timeline is different from ours. This is animated, so it could be fake, and even fake to include robots having blood. How are they able to make robots with blood? Could it be fake blood? It might be red oil or some kind of red liquid as blood.

I'm playing Mega Man X on my PS4 today on 11/28/2023 and man does this video help me out so much. The green platforms are the worst because I kept falling. I had no idea I could keep jumping off the wall to reach the top. I have been playing this game since 1992/1993 on my SNES and I never knew that. I bought the Mega Man X collection 1 that comes with Mega Man X 1, 2, 3 and 4. I still have to buy Mega Man X collection 2 which comes with part 5, 6, 7 and 8. I also have to get the Zero x collection which has all 8 Zero x games. Thanks for this video. You can just use fully charged rolling shield as well when jumping on moving platforms. The enemies can't touch ya.

@Lpoeser Mini-games and the like trained me well for that sort of thing. The spider's actually pretty easy to interpret if instead of focusing on where it will end up, you instead focus on where he will NOT be.

Heck, I think a fully charged buster shot does 3 damage, so it is practically more effective just to do that! Due to its pattern though, the fight will always drag on... and on... and on... and on... What I like when Vile "defeats" you is, if you're at the right side of the screen, Vile will pick you up and drag you to the other side before coming back next to Zero. I always thought it was hilarious XD Pink, I've tried the first Sigma stage without any Armor parts (thanks to a special password) and without the Leg parts to dash, the part at 9:03 is a real pain in the neck, even with Sting Chameleon's charged weapon. :(

In Armored Armadillos stage, there is a hadouken capsule. Like you mentioned, get all the weapons, capsules, heart tanks, and sub tanks and get all the subtanks full. The other one was to get the energy thing over the boss door 5 times, and exiting the stage is also acceptable, because it does not reset how many times you got the energy thing; I tried it before and it works. Your idea was a shortcut, but it also includes wasting lives. In the remake titled "Megaman X: Maverick Hunter," after getting everything from each stage, go through Armored Armadillo's stage, and get to the energy thing over the boss door without taking damage, and that very special capsule will appear.

@dxnaster Mostly an entertainment thing. One is a goofy aside/personal endurance challenge that is purely optional, the other is a mandatory annoyance. XD The spider's basically a Yellow Devil boss with a weakness that does not even do more than charged shots. Even had I just stood there and let Vile smack me around, still would of just blasted the spider cause that stage is long and dull as is. ...Seems the hadoken shenanigans were successful entertainment, too... XD

Funny thing about the Vile fights... you can do them without damage. The Spark balls that you need to get hit by to trigger events don't lower your health. So if you dodged everything except that, you'd be fine, by technicality. Kinda interesting when you think about it.

For the turtles at the start I find it easier just to get hit and then use the invincibility frames to jump right over them. I end up actually coming out with more health. The frame rate does take quite the hit tho

Of all the enemies in Mega Man X, Vile was the one I was so glad to see meet his end. The fact that you face him twice in his giant mecha armor and you are forced to lose to him both times makes his demise all that much sweeter. That, and of course, Zero having to sacrifice himself just to destroy Vile's armor was heartbreaking. But he will be back in X2. Unfortunately, Vile returns as well in later games. Also, Rolling Shield hurts him pretty badly as well. But I see why you went with the Homing Missiles.

I always found it irritating Vile trying to flex how “great” of a fighter he was and how so much better he was than X and all the while using ride armor to fight unarmored opponents…He wasn’t so tough once Zero blew that up and he had to fight X man to man.

For those who don't have enough lives, you can still get the hadouken without committing suicide 4 times, instead of killing yourself, you can pause the game and press escape, but you'll have to go through the entire level instead of starting at the checkpoint.

Literally keep Megama X a 2d side scroller with the movement of the first few and just make it super long with alot of boss fights. Nothing about the formula needs to change from X1-X3

The remake titled "Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter" has 3D graphics, but with 2D movement. The 3D stuff for Mega man X is garbage, because 2D is better for it. Everyone should enjoy the classic way the best, because it's the best, and changing it does ruin the style of it.

Charged Chameleon Sting = Invulnerable. You can run through enemies and projectiles like they're not even there while the effect is active.

You must have full health to actually use it once you get it. Other than that, some people have trouble with the sliding maneuver across the D-Pad. I, for one, have difficulty getting X to launch a Hadouken without first regularly firing the X-Buster. I just finished a week long project video where I investigated the Hadouken and learned pretty much everything there is to know about it.

Well, after you have the hadouken, you can just go get lives at some place before heading to Sigma, or that can be even an extra challenge. I think 6-7 lives are enough for the fortress stages, after you have some practice with them. I think PinkKittyRose here didn't lose a single life on those (not sure if there were outtakes from Sigma's stages).

There is a passcode that enables you to have all the robot masters' weapons, but the robot masters are not defeated. Also you do not have all the armor parts, ❤ tanks, and E-tanks. X looks quite interesting with the special weapons.
