Literally my favorite theme when I heard it as a kid. When I got to this part in the legacy collection, I was just head banging and tapping my feet. In my opinion, X4 has the best sound track in the series. X5 is also good and I haven’t gotten to 6 and 8, but 4 will always be my personal favorite.

X4 really is a special game. Everything about the game feels so polished and filled with love and care, and the stage select is no exception. The soundtrack in general is really unique compared to other X games, having a distinct sound to it which the later PS1 titles didn't seem to quite get down in the same way. The stage select, for as short as the loop is, is no exception. Of all the 3 games on the system, this one feels like it gets down that sense of urgency mixed with hope the most. The gorgeous pixel art only aids things even more. Sucks that this is basically the last really good X game before the series began to kinda go off the rails in quality.

this used to have annotations so you could click on a maverick and link directly to my no-damage run video of each stage. yeah not anymore. yt removes annotations and all my stage select screens are useless. i guess you get the song. just note- my X4 playlist has no damage videos for the entire game. thanks, you may now continue to enjoy this amazing tune.

LOVE this theme! X4 is my favorite gameplay and music wise. It was hard to pick between X4 and X5 because there are lots of cool tracks in X5 as well. Like X Vs Zero, Zero Virus Stage 2, the Japanese intro theme featured only in Rockman X5. X4 was perfect, both of the main characters lost someone they trust or they love... Also I enjoyed the anime cutscenes in X4.

Storm Owl = Along With Repliforce's Air Force preparing to conquering the Sky and attack the city as distraction. 4. Magma Dragoon = Cause the Sky Lagoon to fall and betray the Hunters. He now hide inside the Volcano to fight either X or Zero 5. Jet Stingray = Destroying the city as distraction and escape to the Marine Base along with the Navy. 6. Split Mushroom = Reoccupied the abandoned Bio Lab and attack whoever coming into the Laboratory. 7. Slash Beast = Along with the army guards the military train that carrying a Supply for Repliforce. 8. Frost Walrus = Protecting a Secret weapon built inside a hidden Snowbase.
