Megaman X is by far the best character in all megaman universe,he has infinite potential he can take the power from any enemy and can even use zero's saber,also he is indeed the father of all reploids even Sigma is based of him,and i just don't like his original body being destroyed by Elpizo i don't know what Inafune was thinking leting such an insignificant vilan end X's body like that...

In the original story of Megaman Zero, X was the antagonist. In the original Canon ending of Megaman X5, X forget everything about Zero and starts the idea of building an Elysium for all the Reploids at all costs!. This idea is later known as Neo Arcadia, but X got also tired of the wars and for some reason, he manage to create an "iron wall era" for the Reploids in order to achieve his goal, Utopia at all costs. All the bad things that everyone see Copy-X doing, was planed for the original X, and at the end of the line, is Zero who kill him in order to put an end to that genocide against the Reploids. Inafune planned Megaman Zero to be a emotional link to the ending of X in the Megaman X4. But all of this ideas get destroyed afther Capcom decided to create the infamous Megaman X6, even when Inafune already declared that Megaman X ends in X5. The development of the original Megaman Zero got stoped, and rebooted in order to fit the plot with the nonsense storyline of Megaman X6 by Capcom's orders. So, in the original plot; Copy-X, Elpizo and maybe Ciel and Omega never existed. And for the record, X es not the father of the Reploids at all, X is just another Reploid. He got skills but he never can do anything alone, he depends on everyone to achieve the missions because he don't know how to use his real power, and I'm not talking about the destructive power at all :3 Any human with AP amunition can kill X with 1 single Hit so he is not the "godlike" thing that a lot of people try to build. In fact, Zero is more overpowered than him and the reasons are in the games and in the original storyline that Inafune and Bamboo created a lot of decades ago. Sigma could kill X in a lot of times, even X got captured in X3 by a normal Hunter and Zero had to rush the hell to save him, also he saved X in the first Maverick War and sacrificed himself to protect him. X lack on strengh and mentality for the war because he (belive it or not) was designed as the original Rock. So he never had the warfare survival instinct that Zero had. And before anything else, YES, the Reploids design were based on X original schematics, but thats all. No Reploid owe anything to X, so stop with that "father of all" propaganda ._.

Rian Gonzaga Im not a Zero fanboy, Im realistic to the fact in the story and the character development. Was LIGHT who left behind the schematics of his robot in that underground laboratory. The Reploids are 1 thing but X was the first prototype of Lights new Robots generation (just like Blues "Protoman" who was the prototype created be Light and Wily in the first generation). I already know that Zero was the cause of the entire Maverick Wars and the destruction of the earth as well, Im not blind to those facts. On the other hand, Cain used the schematics of this prototype to create Sigma, the first Reploid and moved quickly to replace the entire generation with those new robots despite the precautions that Light mentioned in his recording. So stop being simplistic on this, "fanboy" dur.... you had to be really sure about what are you saying because I never say that X sucks or is useless... I say the truth that already IS in the games and in the story itself. To be honest, I don't care about Zero or any character, I really enjoy the close combat action, just like Ninja Warriors for SNES, but thats all.... Zero make TO MANY MISTAKES that we can see in Megaman X4 and because of that, Sigma got the oportunity to launch the Eurasia attack in the next episode. Once again, Im not blind at all... Im just realistic with the characters, like it, or not.

I just finished writing about X being gungho too. By X7 and the Zero games he's very worn out and weary but he can be adamant about fighting. In the first he rushes into battle even though he wasn't a fighter. In X2 he's leading a squad to battle. It's that after like a century, he stopped feeling like he was accomplishing anything

^ I agree here. Reploids probably come from the word "replicate" which would mean they are copied and built based on the schematics of X and Zero, but they are nowhere near the same because the original two have unique abilities that set them apart from all reploids.

Of course, friend. As agrieved I am to admit, X doesn't get enough respect from the MM fanbase. The fact of the matter is that X's empathy is what made him strong, because it gave him the drive to fight not only against Mavericks, but also his own pacifistic nature for the greater good, even allowing him to put his infinite potential to this purpose. Even Zero himself attested this, so even Zero's fans should respect X, because any true fan of Zero would respect that opinion of his.

@S0ryiu And, continuing (Sorry for 2x posting) The original megaman series supposedly ended when Zero was activated (differenciating between the two, Zero and X, (Characters) X was never completely activated, Zero was prematurley activated) It is assumed Zero killed all the original Megaman characters before returning to sleep and then years later, which lead to the incident where Sigma was infected, so on so forth

The Elf energy was running out supposedly so he was going to "disappear" anyways. I don't really count this as Elpizo "killing" X who was not only non-existent but fading away anyways. If that's the case then Elpizo just quickened the inevitable.

@zeroa69 Oh, that? People have long speculated that Zero was activated near the end of the Megaman era and killed the Megaman Family. Inafune however said that Zero didn't do it. What you're seeing are his memories of when he was a Maverick, around his first battle with Sigma, where he butchered Gamma's Unit. The Blueprints you see are actually Zero's, but you have to pause the video to get a good look at them. Good luck with that surgery.

And I did say that X has an advantage with the multiple armor sets. But if we only counted natural abilities, (meaning no armor), Zero would have small advantages like the ones I mentioned earlier.

Ok looks like somone needs to clear the confustion ^-^ X was the first robot of his kind, he can think, learn, and has human emotions and qualities. Dr. Light felt it was too soon to release him to the world because people may fear how advanced he is, so he sealed him in a capsole untill he was found in the future by Cain. X was then "REPLICATED", as in other models were built based off of X, and all the androids made AFTER X was dicovered began to be called REPLOIDS, cuz theyre modeled after X!

@dragonmaster951753 Haven't you noticed how Zero has better/opposite attributes than X? X has a buster, but Zero's is more powerful. X has curvy armor, while Zero's is spiky. Zero is taller. Zero doesn't need to use weapon energy for his learned abilities. Zero has long hair. I imagine X has shorter hair. Zero can double jump. Zero can use the saber (close combat) better than X. They're even opposite colors. The only things X has over Zero are his multiple armor sets, and his variable ability.

The only reason Zero is "better" is because he isn't as prone to hesitation or feeling sympathy for his opponents. If you find yourself on Zero's bad side, you're scrap metal. Every Maverick X has had to retire were basically his children, can you imagine how painful that must be?

@lordoYYH255 Also I just looked it up to confirm. X committed suicide to seal the Mother Elf. Therefore he was already dead before Elpizo destroyed his body. Elpizo just undid the seal. No matter what happened X's essence would have disappeared forever because the energy he used to keep his projection in that world was finite. There was probably no way to re-unite X's essence with the body once the seal was performed.

It was INTENDED to be that way, but Megaman X6 got released before Zero 1, so they changed the plot to be ambiguous, though because there is no mention of Axl plotwise (Obviously) It is assumed that it either takes place after X6 and before X7 then split into an alt. universe, or more likely, It takes place after X8 (In which it is also left ambiguous if Axl died or not or went maverick), Assuming Axl died, Zero went to sleep for study, so on so forth.

@lordoYYH255 I have read pretty extensively on the Classic Megaman Storyline. Never found anything indicating that the original Mega Man or X was destroyed. In Mega Man Zero supposedly X sacrificed himself because he thought himself to be the cause of the majority of conflict or something. At the end of Mega Man X8 apparently X is still alive and well so that's what I will go with until Capcom shows me otherwise. Also with Mega Man 9 and 10 coming out apparently the original still lives as well.

I like X too. Zero's great, but sometimes it does seem like X is underrated in terms of character and what happens to him. The first two games didn't have many cutscenes but it was the story of a pretty underpowered(so they thought) dude that was really gungho. He was the player basically, and zero dying and having to rescue him was more the story of X losing and fighting for something. Well they make a good duo.

i dunno, i mean if i were capcom and had to remind myself that with all the characters, they can dash, dash jump, double jump, hover, and then get enhancement parts that allow them to be even more mobile and adjust levels/stages to accommodate for everything to make a challenge, the new x series would have been a pain in the ass to make.
