Man I tell ya, the 35.5 trucks are cool… but it’s trucks like the lil red express that seem to be the most fun. Besides, not too many 35.5 trucks have made it through the pit compared to the smaller tired trucks. Seems to be the case at most mud parks

@@UC308Hatch 35.5 is the tire size. Since these tires are originally for agricultural vehicles or forestry vehicles they have a different way of measuring the tire. 35.5 is the width of the tire

My dad and I built a little 2 seater 81 Toyota helix with a 3inch lift and 3inch body lift and 35 inch tires. We kept the original 22R and the 4 speed trans. It was literally bulletproof off roading, we went with tons of guys who had massive lifts and v6/v8's and we'd keep up with them easily or do better because the truck was light as a feather. Sadly we didn't have any room to store it and we put too much money into it to let it sit outside and rust so we ended up selling it. Long story short though, I'd take those small engined tiny trucks over anything anyway. Was so much fun, and it looked beautiful too.

Til the very end I kept screaming at the screen "you need massive wheel speed to skip across the top" ... then the last guy ran with what looked like some tired boggers and didn't get very far. I remember seeing guys skip across the bay in Iceland with nitro-methane big-block powered "Jeeps" with paddle tires similar to what sand rails run, and that they also race up the sides of volcanoes with. Essentially the wheel speed had to be over 80mph and they'd literally skip across the waves, but one throttle burp and it'd sink instantly. That Samurai was awesome for power to weight.

Its the solid axles that keep the tires from traction. Need to put a opened knife edge under the axle tubes so the truck will sink and the tires can grab that dirt under the mud. Ive done it before, twice, and works very well.
