Chick Corea's intro in On Green Dolphin Street reminds me of his intro in Nefertiti, from Circles, with Braxton. I used to listen to those intros many many times. Corea's unique style mixes intensity with a very delicate touch, plus his incredible voicings. And here I am again and again visiting this amazing music. But this album was particularly intense. It was the perfect continuation to masterpieces like Now He Sings, Now He Sobs and the double-album Trio Music, with music by Monk and some improvisations - with the legendary Roy Haynes and Miroslav Vitous.

I bought this CD. I listen to this track every day in my car. I am an ex-jazz bassist but learning how play Piano. Amazing trio. Hard to believe Chic is gone but wow... what a legacy. I liked the series of the other pianists coming together to play his music with Dave and Toochi.. As a bassist, I am always amazed how Chic got out of the way of the Bass and drum solos but NEVER...NEVER abandoned them. Pianists like Bill Evens for example would just stop playing during some of these solos. I rememner in my bass playing days when I got "Abandoned" during solos, I cleared that up by stopping playing when the pianists were soloing and brought that crap to an end. A guy like Chic is so expert he knows where to throw the markers in and for a bassist that's all it takes. Tooch has perfect time which is amazing in itself but sometimes Chic made the markers short and sweet. I only wish I would have had that coverage. Amazing in that there is so much going on, but it all looks effortless. Time tosses up people like this but time also reclaims us. Glad we were alive in these moments.
