+IIIRattleHeadIII The problem with this song is that the vocals are very very high, and Dave has trouble singing as high as he used to nowadays. This is probably the highest Megadeth song other than Looking Down the Cross.

I love watching Dave play and sing, his riffs never get simple becuase he is singing and in many instances they get more complicated... He may not be the best "singer" but he is one of the best singer/guitar players hands down. And think of the amount of drugs running through his viens at that exact moment.

@saberbazer Seriously, this song is so original, so good. Only dave can write songs like this. The thing with megadeth is, a regular band builds up a song with one or 2 riffs and adds instruments, first 1 guitar, than 2 guitar, than bass, than drums. Dave builds up a song by making 10 riffs, fit them perfectly up after eachother and even if you only hear the guitar it builds up just as epicly as if you'd add instruments more and more.

The coolest thing about Megadeth old songs that most of them has progressive structure. The song never go back to previous section. Holy wars, Black friday, Conjuring, Wake up dead, Bad omen, Looking down the cross, In my darkest hour, Mary Jane, Set the world afire, Ashes in your mouth etc If every parts of this songs are repeated twice, the song would easily 8-9 minutes long but would make it less interesting.

Both Chris's are my favorite, they each have those technical solos, that arent too exotic like Marty's were

new metal bands need a whole album to give 6-7 good riffs. Mustaine made those riffs for one fucking song
@iya29014 жыл бұрын
@ibanezmancons It wasn't entirely Mustaine's doing. The band members were also pushing in that direction, just look athow Ellefson and Friedman changed their image. Also, if you look at the song credits you see a Marty and Ellefson being credited more and more often.

Yeah i agree. I think the best guitarists in Megadeth were/are Chris Poland, and Chris Broderick. Hi...I don't look at it as far as album sales go, Yes Countdown sold more than any other album but that doesn't usually ever mean the best album for a band to sell more albums 100% of the time they have to compromise their sound as 'Deth did. And sorry but I don't agree that Youngs solos weren't unusual or different just listen to the first solo in 502 or the solos he does in My Darkest Hour.
@zzzhuh13 жыл бұрын
@hegadem I think Friedman is over rated but even Dave said in a documentary a while back that Jeff couldn't do Poland's solo's. In my eyes I think Poland and Gar were the best fit for Megadeth but everyone looks at it differently.

This song always struck me as the oddball of the So Far So Good So What record. Musically, it's very unique, and almost doesn't fit any other Megadeth song. Lyrically, it's very abstract, only briefly following the theme of the witch 'Mary Jane'
