Back in the 90's, when I was a teenager, I used to translate loads of lyrics to my native language using dictionary and writing them down on a piece of paper. One day, I've translated "A Tout Le Monde" , left the the paper with it on a table in the living room and went out with friends. My dad came back home and read the lyrics and thought I'm going to hurt myself, so he got into a cab and spend two hours driving around town and looking for me (90s, pre mobile phone era) to eventually find me all well with friends in the pub. I'll never forget his face when he found me. He was scared but happy in the same time. It was so many years ago, hes now dead, but each time I listen "A Tout Le Monde" it reminds me my dad and that moment.

Gonna go on his final journey wearing his A Tout Le Monde hoodie. Rest in peace Tom, thank you for being the best son and for just being you. This song always hurts me for something that happened about 24 years ago. I had a friend was a year older than me and had alredy graduated. He dating a really mean and evil girl in my grade and it was our senior year. She had broken up with him and just really nasty about it. So he drove to her house on New Year's Eve and asked to talk it out. She let him in and basically reinforced it was over and no chance of reconciliation. My friend dropped to his knees, tucked his head and pulled a pistol out he had, ending his own life in front of her and her mom, just after midnight. I got the phone call from another close friend's mother early that morning. To make matters worse? Later in the day, they found his note in his bedroom at his parents house and the entire lyrics to this song were basically his goodbye and explanation. You'd imagine the line "And the living are scarred" would ring really true to his ex and her mother right? Well, a mere few months later, she showed up to our Senior Prom with one of his closest friends and began screwing the dude. Absolutely despicable and heartless. It wasn't her that was left scarred, it was all of us that actually liked the guy that were left, even almost 24 years later, hurt. He needed help and he unfortunately wasnt getting it. So this has always had a weird, sore spot for me despite how great of a song it is. Sorry to bring down the vibe

A friend of mine was so obsessed with playing guitar he had a battery-powered mini amp strapped to his back almost 24/7 so he could walk and play wherever he felt like it. He was a huge metalhead and I knew the first time I heard him play that he would be famous for it someday, but he passed away earlier this year so now the world will never see his talent and I feel so absolutely privileged to have witnessed it in my lifetime. These lyrics are among the best I have ever heard. My finacé is terminal with brain cancer and I've been struggling terribly and this song has helped me so much through this struggle and so much of what he says is true. The opening lyrics just make me think of the harder we try to control our circumstances the more out of control things tend to feel for us and the good things in life simply pass us by. Value and cherish those you love because you never know what hell lurks just around the corner...although her body may not be with me forever she will always be in spirit, mind, heart and soul.

This song "À Tout le Monde" (French for 'to all the world' or 'to everyone')" is about what death leaves in its wake. Frontman Dave Mustaine has said "There were a lot of times when I was lost. In February ‘93 there was no solution to a temporary problem because I just lost focus. I ate a handful of valiums, and I overdosed… Why I would want to voluntarily kill myself through the use of stuff that’s not supposed to do any good for me just makes me rethink my whole way of life right now". Dave has also said if he had only a little time to live, one soundbite; he wanted everyone to know that good, bad, or indifferent; he loved them all. The song's chorus-"à tout le monde, à tous mes amis, je vous aime, je dois partir"-translates from French as follows: "To everyone, to all my friends, I love you, I must leave."

Matthew Mitchell Great song, but the lyrics are not really appropriate for a funeral of someone unless they were in the armed services. Fade To Black is my favourite, but again, not appropriate. Cause of death was entered as unknown. Not suspicious, nothing in the toxicology, not suicide. He had been taken to the doctors in the 12-18 months prior for palpitations but no cause was ever found. A 26 year old suddenly dying, without any real answer as to why. Perhaps you understand the song choices.

Listening to this song takes me back and fills me with tears & love. My best friend loved this band. It was over Megadeth that we sparked the friendship of a lifetime. We were in the Navy back in 2001. He was amazing & larger than life. We were in New Orleans on break and he saw this street called Elysian Fields Drive. He had to stop to take a picture. We were partying hard later and he got serious, which was rare for him. He told me not to cry for him when he dies. To play this song and remember him. I was a kid struggling to survive, like I’d been tossed in an ocean full of sharks. He was the only human who reached out and pulled my head out of the water. The last thing I wanted was to contemplate his leaving. I told him “Dude quit that! You aren’t gonna die YET!” Anyways we stayed the best of friends through highs and lows but maybe he knew something. Maybe he had a clock he didn’t like to face often that told him time was short. It kills me inside that he did end up passing exactly 5 years ago. He was 43 and had retired from the Navy some years before and was one credit shy of his BS. I regret I never got to say goodbye.

I remembered the first time I came across Megadeth. I was at my friends house and I noticed this CD on their kitchen table, the album depicted with an old lady hanging up babies on a line. Like when you hanging out clothes for them to dry. I asked my friend if I could borrow the CD. He said: '' Sure! But the only best song is number 4...'' And number 4 was ''A Tout Le Monde''. And that was the day I became a Megadeth fan. Man, I should visit my friend and thank him for introducing me to Megadeth.

As long as their memories makes ripples in the water of your life, they will never be forgotten. Dad in 2012, Mom in 2015, about a week apart time-wise. At her service, I went off a bit about how her 'memorial' paper at her church failed to encompass the mother I knew, even in her Winter years, and my metal-head brother read part of these lyrics when he came up next. I do hope they found each other in the Gulf of Mexico (ashes mingled), as she wasn't going to let him get away that easily (her words). I still dream of them.
