This album was my first introduction to Megadeth, back in 94, while in high school. I was hooked since then.

This particular album is criminally under appreciated. The mid tempo songs on this album work well to bring over an 'unlikely' listener to become a fan of Megadeth and/or Dave Mustaine. The whole album is a solid offering from Dave. Everybody has bagged on his vocals (I personally view his part as 'vocal stylings'), but Dave worked on his voice and got better.

This whole album is different than most of the Megadeth you have listened to before. Slower tempos. More conventional verse, chorus approach. There are a few faster tempo songs, but nothing like 'Rust in Peace'. I have most of the songs off this album on my early Megadeth play list. Let me suggest 'Addicted to Chaos'. It is the longest song on the album but has a very deep meaning. 'Black Curtains' is a heavier song, heavy on the guitar, moderate tempo. I feel you would like them both.

Glad you went back to check them out and discover this song. Anyway, Could you please react to the band Death? Either the song "Pull the Plug" or "Left to Die". Since you mentioned thrash wasn't to your liking, how about check out some death metal? Death is a band that helped birth and shape a new metal genre (death metal) after thrash metal (Metallica, Megadeth). The band leader was a great musician and composer, I think you might find them interesting and different.
