I'm just feeling a little more fired up after listening to this song and various other metal tracks on YT. Gets me going in a good way.

...You know, this actually isn't that bad. Although, I can't understand why Dave decided that Enter the Arena and Crush 'Em should be 2 different tracks instead of one. It, to me, seems like a very weird way to expand the album's track list.

It’s like Judas Priest’s The Hellion and Electric Eye, which are two different tracks, but they must be linked together.

OP correct. And all replys true! How about Def Leppards "headed for a Heartbreak" and "Switch 625" Must be played together. But its definitely for radio/video play.

I dont like how most songs on risk build up to be these heavy songs (for example songs like the doctor is calling) and then just turn into a pop song

I couldn't wait for them to release The World Needs A Hero after being sorely disappointed with this album. That was not their best album but it was at least a return to metal. Dave Mustaine even appeared on British TV stating that The World Needs A Hero was a return to a heavier sound.

After listening to their whole discography, I found that the dreaded Risk was honestly great. Better than The World Needs A Hero and Super Collider. Hell, I personally liked it more than Countdown To Extinction and Cryptic Writings. People shat on it blindly because it wasn't thrash or essentially Rust In Peace 2... even though Megadeth had stopped being thrash for several years by the time Risk came out. Risk was softer and more experimental, yes, but it had great songwriting.

@@ElekiSerket I never took issue with the fact that Megadeth stopped with the thrash come the 90's after Rust In Peace. While Countdown contained some thrash elements/traces, you just knew they had eschewed what they once were by that point in their career. However, they were still metal for much of the 90's and they were great. Even Overkill stopped playing thrash for the 90's and changed pretty much to groove metal. My issue with Megadeth and Risk wasn't that they stopped playing thrash but it was the fact that on that album, they had deviated completely from what they were first and foremost which was metal. I absolutely enjoyed albums like Countdown, Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings and Hidden Treasures. However, Risk was a completely demetalized effort and that was what I didn't like about it. It was some kind of alternative rock type offering (I expect to see that from bands like Kula Shaker, Travis etc, not Megadeth). I have nothing against bands experimenting and progressing their music in the vein of whatever is going on within the musical landscape of the time but when you've established yourself as such and then you completely take that away which attracted your following and then release something else, fans will unquestionably be disappointed. Even Dave Mustaine himself regrets releasing it under the Megadeth name and stated that if it had been released under a different name, it would have sold more.

I have every single MegaDeth album in my library. But for some strange reason, I keep coming back to this album Risk. It has really grown on me.

@@dmullinax1000 This album did absolutely nothing for me in 1999 when I first bought it and today it still does absolutely nothing. I can only admire you for finding the greatness within this album that still as of yet proves elusive to me.

Good great track but it just dosen't fit perfect for any wrestler or wrestling event theme despite welcoming Goldberg back. Sorry WCW RIP 88-01. The 2004 remix ain't even that good.

Just wanna say that first off WWE/WCW legend Bill Goldberg brought me here. 2nd, while I don't care for Megadeth and Dave's whiny, bitch ass, cry baby, diva attitude and voice, there's no denying that this song is still a high energy banger.

Take that opinion of yours and shove it up your fucking ass, megadeth kicks absolute ass and so does dave.
