The Black was a really good show that really needed to be drawn out more and also I think the whole Kaiju tracking thing was an exclusive thing between Boy and Apex because Apex Drifted with Boy multiple times so that may be attributed to some sort of remnant of a link that can let Apex sense Boy’s distress and general location and/or Boy used that link to call for Apex’s help since it seems those two are rather “close”

I do think that Mega Kaiju could take this one. Mainly because Apex's main advantages are movement based, and given how the Mega Kaiju dealt with Sabre Athena, who also relies on speed, with relative ease. Off topic: Breacher is possibly the most underrated kaiju in the entire franchise. To start off, Atlas destroyer is one of the most durable jaegers since it shrugged off tons of attacks from other kaijus, and Breacher just completely pancaked it with little to no effort, what Breacher did to Atlas is far worse than anything Slattern did for example. And all of this while probably not even using 100% of his power For example, he completely bulldozed a boulder of almost his same size as if it was made of paper. While Slattern did something similar, he used all of his limbs and tails to gain momentum as he did it underwater, while Breacher only had his legs to gain momentum

The Mega Kaiju is smarter than it’s given credit for. Since during its fight against Gipsy Avenger, the MK aimed its tail stab at the jaeger’s head, most likely knowing a jaeger’s com-pod is its biggest weakness, idk if that was the case or if it was just a lucky shot

A couple of notes and fun facts: Note 1: All Kaiju have two brains, a main brain in their head which is usually highly shielded by their apparently crazy durable skulls, and a secondary brain lower down their body, which helps them control their gigantic bodies, as was explained in the original pacific rim. The reason why the mega Kaiju has four, is that his main brain is made of an amalgam of the 3 kaiju's main brains, and his 3 secondary brains are those from the 3 kaiju which he needs to control his gigantic body and multiple appendages. Note 2: the mega is not necessarily weak to cutting weapons. Saber Athena's swords are just incredibly powerful (seeing as they effortlessly cut through skyscrapers like air). We know this because it was also able to grab gipsy avenger's plasma chainsaw and break it barehanded. Those chainsaws which originally came from obsidian fury were capable of cutting through gipsy avenger's chainsword 2.0, an upgraded version of gipsy danger's chainsword, and we saw what that thing could do Fun fact 1: hakuja was also said in promotional material to have magma like blood which would melt conventional weapons that pierced it's body. This did not happen in the movie because it was only hurt by saber Athena's sword which is already superheated, so we could realistically assume that the mega Kaiju posseses this trait too. Fun fact 2: iirc, either an early script or the official novelization mentions that the Mega slows down significantly after loosing his first brain, which means he should be quite a bit faster than what we saw in the movie, since he lost it pretty early on. The canonicity of the fun facts is dubious, hence why they ain't notes. Now I do think the Mega would win, mostly because he only needs to get lucky once for the battle to change completely, but that's not to say Apex wouldn't give it hell

8:23 actually as far as I'm aware all kaiju are supposed to have two brains. it's said in the first one they have a secondary one in the butt area because of how big they are, and honestly i think the number of brains they gave mega kaiju didn't account for this and they just forgot. It doesn't add to the who would win I just think it's neat.

Mega Kaiju (and in my opinion) takes the edge in both strength and resilience with absolute STEAL, Mega Kaiju takes a colossal ball of spikes to his face, his reaction? Tearing Bracer Phenoix into bits! Gets hit in the back by a sword from Saber Athena, his reaction? Breaking both of Saber Athena's lets off, and then THROWING her across the city, that's some good damn resilience! Not to mention Mega Kaiju's pure strength alone, once Mega Kaiju gets his hand on Apex, Apex is done for without a doubt.

Not gonna lie, Saber Athena’s whole destruction isn’t a feat. The jaeger was meant to be fast and is basically like a Lamborghini, even to the damn lights and color, so they used a light or less dense metal for her. Unfortunately that could mean that if it gets hit by a kaiju like, say Leatherback, it’s gone.

I do feel like the mega could burrow sense it has the strength (and limbs) needed to dig, the only issue I could see is just how long it could take before its actually in the ground due to its size, this could actually tip the odds to be either in megakaiju favor or just a 50/50 due to megakaiju maybe able to attack apex from below him (I know apex can do the fucking /locate command), also something I noticed is that apex lacks the weapons to do large amounts of damage (haven't watched the anime apologies) due to missiles probably doing more good for mega than harm and the claws apex has can force apex to get into striking range
