I wonder why the English versions of X5 and X6 removed the audible announcement of the boss names. That's an impactful element of the intros that helped make X4 so incredible in both versions.

You may no believe it, but the X5 and the X6 series had a very small budget compared to the X4 . Note the animated scenes in X4 and the detailed sprites and movement of the characters in game.

There is no Crescent Grizzly or Tidal wave. Those are: Duff Mcwhalen, Grizzly Slash, Squid Adder, Skyver, Axel Rose, Dark Dizzy, MattRex, and Izzy Glow. I think peak was X5 and X6. Although X4 is very nostalgic.

Actually, Crescent Grizzly and Tidal Whale are their original, Japanese name. Those Guns’ n Roses name are just mere coincidence. Believe it, the first time I played X5 is Japanese version so I’m into their names.
