The quality of the prints of these episodes of Monster Squad are passable, but not top notch. They don't really look like they have been remastered. Are they straight film transfers, or are they videotape/telecine transfer? (they look like they could be the former) Also, I wonder how Viacom and Nacelle are involved with this show. was Viacom Enterprises the original TV syndicator for the series? and how did Nacelle get the rights?

Monster Squad first premiered on NBC in 1976. It was probably 1978...1979 when Viacom had the rights the reran the show to local channels.

These are either, like you said, a film to digital file transfer or a film to videotape (most likely Digital Betacam) transfer. I’m unsure which method was used, though. If these transfers are fairly recent (again, I don’t know), it’s most likely that the films were transferred to a digital file instead of videotape since DigiBeta production was discontinued in 2016. I’m unsure how Nacelle acquired the rights to this program. This was a show I had never heard of until yesterday. Viacom would’ve the original distributor since their logo is present in these transfers. That could’ve easily been removed, but for whatever reason, the logo was left intact.

Monster Squad, as I have just read, was a Saturday morning series. Just 13 episodes. One of many series that came and went quietly.
