Gustafson is 100% on point. Caitlin will be entering a new world and in that one defense is mandatory!

Really, I don't see much defense in the WNBA.

When you are credited with averaging 12 or more assists that’s defense Caitlin plays a whole game .I’ve never seen anyone pass the ball like she does since Larry Bird

I hope Iowa hasn't forgotten the Vivian Stringer teams which made 3 sweet 16s, 3 elite 8s, and a Final Four.

I wish Clark would have stayed another year at Iowa! Not because I don't think she can handle the next level, but because there is No Way that I would leave what she has at Iowa.... Sell out Crowds, the following, she plays how she wants, ETC. Those fans Love her! People just Dont follow Pro B-ball, like they do College Sports, especially tge WNBA! I personally think it's gonna be a big let down, especially After her 1st year! I'm wishing her the Best!!

Let's see, we have a player known to prepare herself meticulously for the situation she finds herself in. She will be just fine in the WNNA, LOL.

Caitlin won't have to play defense cause they miss shots on their own anyways.

Caitlin Clark's biggest challenge in the WNBA will be the black lesbian girls club that excludes hetero's and non blacks on and off the court. These will all be formidable obstacles for her. Even though Clark, IMO, is the best offensive guard to come out of WCBB since Taurasi, it won't matter. Even if she goes to a team with a significant amount of hetero's like Las Vegas, which is unlikely.
@kurtjohnson4816

Dude, stop. This is clearly YOUR issue, not Caitlin's, nor the black players or the lesbians. There are plenty of white women in the W, and plenty of hetero players of whatever race. They all seem to get along fine, play well together, etc. You're just making shit up to suit your own agenda, and NOBODY needs it.

This is much truer than people realize. The LGBT aspect in women's sports is a big factor and they're mostly a bunch of a-holes.

Another challenge is they may not let Caitlin play the way she wants to play. She admits a big part of her success in Iowa is coach and teammates let her play the way she likes, they support her no matter what. Love is unconditional. And Iowa has done a great job promoting her. Question is will WNBA do the same for her? More than likely, they're expecting her to lift up or save their league, but a lot of people may still not watch it even with Caitlin.

If Megan is right and the WNBA prioritizes defense, and will try to get CC to be a more defensive player, then the league is doomed to fail and CC should just go overseas with Megan and Silver should pull the plug on the WNBA altogether. I don't wanna watch a low-light video of "awesome defense, look how great this defense is". Literally no one wants to watch that, in any sport. What?
@cobra7282
@cobra7282 6 ай бұрын
@@Raindeux The league is doomed because they want a player to play more defense? She will have more talent around her and therefore won't have to pull as much weight on offense and can expend some more energy on defense..

Well, the mature ones know it’s a sisterhood. It should be competitive without being antagonistic. CC has gained a lot of respect for bringing so much attention to college basketball!

The wnba black players will try to freeze her out. Its a shame but that league is a JOKE. Caitlin can raise it up - But the other players in the league will bring it DOWN. And of course they'll scream for equal pay as the men . I hope she changes her mind and goes back to IOWA

Why do some white people always see color in everything. Its the hate for the black players, why you all hate the WNBA. Reverse the situation, and you all would be talking very differently. If Caitlin ask for equal pay, what would you say?

the laziness of defense being the policy of wnba only shows why no one watches either the nba or wnba. Play the sport or don't play it all. Jordan Magic Johnson Bird Thomas Pippen didn't play a defense focused game they played the game & let each game dictate which to focus on & that's what made them great. Lebron curry & kobe played in the nba which has for years focused on slow boring unexciting games yet only play offense they don't hassel end to end even if their up 10 points they don't rush back for defense they let the rest of the team worry about that & that's why no one watches. The stars of today are ball hogs & endless shooters even when they don't have a shot & someone else does & cry foul when they miss or don't have a shot. They cry over cramps Jordan Magic & Bird didnt do that..... I hope caitlin & whatever teams she lands with return to real basketball & how it was meant play that's what everyone wants & sees in Iowa right now.

I actually agree with you on this. Solid basketball has changed, but i also believe that the Refs have a roll to play in the change of how defense is played. A tap on the arm or on the body, a whistle is blown. That changes the mindset of these modern player. Some player go full in on being offensive, because of defensive whistle blowing. The Refs need to put the whistle away, unless it starts to bubble up in a bad way.
@craighanson-rc1md
@craighanson-rc1md 7 ай бұрын
@@omega4055 I agree but at the same time in any case refs even replay can't always see everything. I've seen plenty of hard intentionally fouls let slide while seeing clear taps or slips of hands or slaps be called fouls even intentional fouls. Most often during scrambles for loose balls or whatever. And most often when a "super star" is involved as they will cry & moan to the refs about being found even if it's clear all ball or accident or even the "stars" own actions that lead to the supposed foul. refs need to be better & know when to call real fouls & not listen to suppose stars complaint & flop around pretending to be fouled or hurt. Get back to actually playing the game not the soap opera it has become. I've seen paint drying more entertaining the last or 5+ years then college or nba basketball games let alone wnba. And the nba & wnba wonder why no one watches them.
