I can’t believe you used rigid fabric, I had memories of uncomfortable jeans back in the day and love my stretchy jeans. Having said that I love your Dawn jeans and think I’ll but the pattern, thank you

Great review thanks Lauren. I made Dawn jeans back in January and they are the best fitting jeans I’ve ever had. However, I had to do the opposite adjustment to you and add to the butt! 😆 I would like to know how to extend the pockets into the fly,

You did a great job on these. Thanks for taking the time to show the comparison. I haven't worked up the courage to ever sew a pair of jeans but the mom-waist of these is better for me so no muffin top. I may give them a try!

Another great fitting pair of jeans, Lauren! 👏 I have started and abandoned 4 different jeans/ close fitting pants due to flat bum issues! I've looked and found confusing, complicated pattern adjustments for this and am still stumped as to how to do it! I comb Instagram before buying any patterns, so I know I'm not the only one out there who could benefit from a flat seat adjustment tutorial. Is there any way we could talk you into helping us out?? 😉 Your tutorials are always awesome!💓

I really want to make these and I am a decently experienced sewer. I don´t own a serger though. Do you think it is still possible to make jeans without one? With the double top stitch look, is there any special needle or is it possible with a standard sewing machine and needle? Awesome video and very helpful. Your videos in general are awesome!

Clair D hello, yeh for sure you can make them without a serger. You’ll just need to finish off the raw edges on the inside with another stitch in your sewing machine - zig zag or overcast stitch if you have it. The double top stitch look is created by sewing two single lines of stitching together on your normal machine with a standard needle. I use a top stitch needle as the eye in bigger and can cope with the extra thickness of the thick top stitch thread 😊

Would you recommend starting with the dawn jeans if you've never sewed jeans before? Or do you think the ginger jeans would be a better place to start?

I don't think it would make much difference to be honest, both patterns, I think, have really good instructions. It just depends on what style you want as they are very different in that sense. I hope that helps :)
