Just wonderful thank you. I will be teaching this pattern in a workshop and just watching and listening to you was so insightful, particularly in understanding which areas may require more help. It's such a well-written pattern, isn't it? It was my first MN and I am absolutely thrilled with my jeans. Thanks again I know just how much work this would have been for you to edit. Shout out to the gorgeous pups, best studio buddies ever!

Hi, I filmed this really early on when I first filmed on KZbin, brave under taking, it's probably too long! But I hope you found it useful

Thank you so much for this sew-along! Thanks to you I started and I managed to sew my Dawn jeans;) I discovered your channel thanks to this video and you have just gained a subscriber:) Thank you also for being so understandable for a non-native like me ( French speaking but Belgian ;)) It's a real pleasure!

Good morning, I've just downloaded the PDF then found your video. Wanted to try making jeans for ages. I have a beautiful length of cordroy I'm going to use. Going for a run now then watching this with a big cup of tea before I make a toile. Fingers are crossed!

How lovely! It has time stamps on the video, it's an epic watch otherwise 😄. Ironically I'm about to make some too, might even watch my own video to remind myself!

Thank you for the tutorial on the Megan Nielsen Dawn jeans, I have the pattern and denim all ready to go but was not confident to start. So I have made Persephone pants by Anna Allen with button front which I love, fit is so flattering and now I made the Peppermint magazine Wide leg pants with a zip front in corduroy which I love to bits, for the practice as this has been my biggest concern with sewing jeans. Anyway I am feeling ready since watching you, so thank you.

Goodness me, what an interesting “warts and all” video, I absolutely loved it, so honest. Loved the family noises and seeing your lovely Whippets. Thank you for all your hard work in making this video and it’s a definite go to for when I make this pattern. Thank you 👏🤗

I just purchased this pattern and I went all out and got the hardware and the leather patch! I am so happy to have found this vlog because I need a lot of hand-holding with something new. This will be my first pair of me-made jeans. I am going to make the wide leg version as well. The topstitching will make it or break it I fear. I am encouraged that you got such a nice fit without any alterations.

You'll love it! It's my favourite trouser pattern ever, can't believe how well they came together and fit, good luck! Take your time would be my advise x

Hi Cara, such a lot of work that you have put into this and it's much appreciated 👌💖. I love how you broke things down in the show notes... great idea if you need to dip in and out. Well done with your jeans and they look amazing 👖. I don't mind the family life in the background at all... and dogs need attention when they need it...and if yours are anything like my whippet Merlin...it has to be immediate or whining may occur 😋😁. Really enjoyed your sew along and hope you can do more in the future 👍💖😘

Loved watching the buttonhole stage because they really worry me ,it was really good to watch the sewing process too, I can’t imagine making a pair of jeans but it did look ‘not so daunting ‘ , firstly I have to attempt making a pair of trousers , I really enjoyed watching a very relaxing tutorial ,the jeans are gorgeous , thankyou so much for sharing !
@sosewmad4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elaine, I actually found them was easier than trousers, actually that's all they are, add top stitching, make them in denim and they're called jeans!

Thank you for sharing such a detailed tutorial I will definitely re-watch when I make me a pair of jeans for sure❤ and yes I sew without thread all the time😂😂. I also have my thread jump out of the top I think because we sew quickly.. haha I'm not one for wide legs but those look great.. Awesome fit!!

@margaretbryant64684 жыл бұрын
Hi .please could you tell me what is stay stitching .is it just a ordinary stich on machine .xx
@sosewmad4 жыл бұрын
Yes, stay Stitching is an ordinary stitch length but it's sewn within the seam allowance so isn't visible, it helps to prevent the fabric 'stretching out' when youre making the garment, most often used with stretch fabrics and drapery fabrics like rayon.

Mine is the Brother 1034D, it wasn't expensive and I've used it non stop, also really easy to thread. Go for it!
