I absolutely love this song, my wife and I sat in the car singing and ended up changing some lyrics. “Make him proud and make him smile” into “make him cry and make him smile” because the truth is he had to send his son to die because we don’t make him proud, but we do make him smile as we choose to walk with him. The other lyric that we changed was “he looks at me, and wouldn’t change a thing” into “he looks at me, and loves me anyways”. This one was in similar thought, he did change us when he sent his Son to die in the cross for our sins. I don’t mean to pick apart the lyrics but the song is so beautiful and has such a strong message. The truth is God loves us and this song clearly represents that truth. Thank you for creating such a beautiful song! ❤

AMEN to your changes. These two lines have kept me from loving this otherwise overwhelmingly beautiful song of praise. I have wondered, though, if perhaps Ms. Woods was referring to our physical appearances when she sings, "He looks at me and wouldn't change a thing"? I do love your changes and will make them my own as I sing along with Megan. I agree. We don't make God proud - Don’t let the English language rob you. God has better for us than that. I see nowhere in scripture where God is “proud of” people. Besides, your real desire is not to make God proud of you. You really want to “delight” Him. And God already does “delight in” us. When we turn to Christ, we are like the prodigal son whom God sees returning from afar. With great joy, He runs out to embrace us! We come to Him in our sin-stained rags, and He robes us with His good name, and Christ’s righteousness. If you’ve believed and trusted in Christ, you have been born into God's family. I can’t express how this song touched me. I have tied to take my own life more times than i can count on both hands. I have been in an extremely dark place where i thought no one could reach me. Recently those thoughts have become stronger and I have honestly considered it again. But when I head this song come on the radio while riding with my mom somewhere. I can’t explain it but after a minute i stared to cry and breakdown and tell my mother everything because i felt like for some reason it was god reaching out. I can’t explain it but this has given me the urge to learn more bout god and to read my bible and get a better relationship with him and hopefully in time to seek professional help. but most of all to allow my family to finally help me instead of trying to push them away and not be a burden on them.

Very beautiful song and a very beautiful voice. You have great talent.... But false doctrine. It's not the truth that God wouldn't change anything in us.... This takes away the need for repentance and scarification.... Letting people believe like some churches and Christians believe come as you are, stay as you are.... you can keep living a life of addiction , alcoholism, promiscuity, fornication, deceit, gossip, anger etc..... because Jesus loved you and dried for you.... no to believe is to obey.... he died for us as we are and then days come now change.... the truth is God loves us even though he would change many things and have actually died for them.....
