Holy heck, this is *GORGEOUS.* I really enjoy the upbeat, ultra-catchy tempo of the original version. But the way you've rendered the song in this version fits BEAUTIFULLY the tone of the actual lyrics, which when you look at them are actually rather melancholy and talk about toxic personal and interpersonal dynamics. (Reminds me of a couple of favorite songs of mine-"Try to Fight It" by Shallow Side, and "Crying My Name" by Seven Day Sonnet. In fact, you could think of this song as being told from the perspective of the addressee in those two songs.) And the beautiful music and sublime vocals here absolutely tap into that very poignant emotional aspect latent in the lyrics. And I'm someone who's usually really big on lyrics, so that's really awesome for me. It just gives it a whole new power. As much as I enjoy the original version, I absolutely love this as well, and can't wait to show it to folks! Also, while I would've been fine if you'd kept the lyrics exactly the same for the sake of accuracy, it's definitely a nice bonus here for me that we have "messed up" versus "fvcked up," as that means I can easily play it without worrying about bothering the family/youngsters. (Though to be fair, the original isn't rife with profanity itself, so it's definitely an easier play than some songs, in that regard, lol.) Anyways, huge bravo and brava on the whole thing! Instant favorite, haha! 👏👏👏👏👏💪💪
