Looking forward to the UVA-specific advice! Could you please talk about class enrollment/waitlist and advisors? I got capped at 11 credits for the July enrollment and only have 3 3-credit classes and I’m kinda nervous about getting the 15 since I’m a full time student.

yes!! i think they're going to open up "full" enrollment on August 4th, so you should be able to fully enroll in 15 credits then. registering for classes is SUPER stressful, especially the first time (i literally cried about it lol). I would have an idea of at least 3-4 classes you want to enroll in (2 and then 2 backups) just in case, but uva should also be sending out an email soon with the exact times to enroll. hope this helps!! i'll definitely cover class enrollment in that video :)

These tips can be applied all over the world. Although my college years was some 20 years ago in half a world away from the US...I wish I knew your tips earlier back then!

what?! omg. if they don't have in-person, I bet they are doing zoom office hours at least! & if not, definitely email your professors if you need help!

I know that I already commented but I have a few more questions idk if you’d be able to answer? I’m rooming at one of the McCormick residencies and I remember watching your dorm video at Dabney (I think it was Dabney haha) Do you have any tips/pros and cons about living at McCormick?
@MeganKelleher4 жыл бұрын
yes i lived in dabney!! :) my biggest tip would be to try & get to know your hallmates early on - i absolutely loved my hallmates but it's great to see a familiar face walking around. you can also get to know other people in other halls in your dorm (also where some of my great friends came from) & can study with them in the study rooms, dorms, libraries, etc. the biggest pro i would say is the proximity to everything!! literally cannot get closer than old dorms to everything! & cons (if any, i really didn't find anything of substance to be a problem) is that it isn't super close to the gym?? haha maybe it was just me being lazy (definitely was) but it's a solid 5-10 min walk to the gym sO definitely made me less inclined to go.
