I've officially stopped watching Coronation Street because there's too much about drug dealing, alcoholism, debts and martial abuse. Just depressing. Don't need it in my entertainment because it's everywhere in reality and it's lowlife garbage I stay away from. CHEERS!!!!!

I think it may shine a light on issues that some people have little awareness of, it also may serve as a guidance for some. Having said that I think it needs to lighten up for a while that’s for sure! Anyone else a little sick of the misery that is Leanne Battersby and the sad/depressing storylines. Would be good to let Gemma, Sean, Kirk, Brian, Shona, etc be up to some silly and funny antics for a while. Let Billy and Summer have some happy times without Billy’s love life being in the way! Need a good dose of Evelyn’s blunt yet pithy ways!

I agree. I think back in the day it was ok to have these storylines coz they served as education and got people talking. However now these issues are everywhere and always in the news and people want to see some light relief

But the only thing that annoys me that if a storyline begins and we get the theme of it sometimes they make it go on for too long, like that Geoff should of been caught a lot sooner

I actually think Alex Bain isn't that bad of an actor, the odd part is that he looks nothing like his on screen parents. Poor casting choice in that regard.
