I related my tale of breaking my MZ 23 complete vocal collection before. At a recent anime convention, i found all 3 megazone 23 DVD's. Used, but i cannot even see a fingerprint on any of them. Haven't watched them yet, but since i have seen the entire series already, i think i will just leave them alone till i want to watch them. So yeah, happy day!

True story time. I first heard this song on a bootleg VHS tape i bought at a sci-fi convention. I loved it so much i actually imported the Megazone 23 laserdisks from Japan. And then i found the complete vocal collection on CD. Bought that. Then tragedy struck, i broke the CD in half taking it out of the jewel case after about a year. I was heartbroken. So much so that the next time i found that CD at a convention, i bought all they had (2). I still have one in the shrink wrap. I never NOT want to be able to listen to that song. Plus, there are a ton of other good songs from that anime, but that one has a special spot in my soul.

Millions die an only a few punk kids survive [other than BD an a few of his followers who go into deep space as the escape ship carrying those dumb kids proceeds onward to Earth]. This ending of the movie left a lot of unanswered questions that defied logic! Other than that a great song finally getting to hear it without the noise of the old video is a welcome experience. I always wondered why a live action movie was never done with today's CGI it wouldn't be cost prohibitive if done right.

My only question is why the hell did he go through all this trouble just to get back to earth if he was just gonna say fuck it Im a live in deep space. Why not just stay in deep space to begin with!

Emmanuel Rosales I really can't answer that except theorize that B.D. deciding to stay in space cause he thought it best a younger generation go back to the Earth to start anew. Why they would build a device that not only to destroyed the enemy of Megazone [clearly other survivors of Earth that are in an ark of their own possible from another rival nation] after ridding of the threat is beyond me. I myself keep asking what is the purpose of building an Ark for humanity if you're only going to destroy it leaving the decision to a computer that only makes cold calculations. An as for Megazone basically self destructing killing the majority of those that don't manage to escape its destruction [except those few kids that return to Earth] an stay with B.D. that too makes no sense. Its not even hinted how they were to survive without Megazone, possibly with a few assault ships used for fighting the enemy? I guess they needed a dramatic ending for the story an left that an open question for fans of the series. As for the anime itself it has flaws an parts that were totally unnecessary (I won't debate about those you've probably already figured it out) perhaps the next one, if ever made, will have a more mature story instead of just concentrating on kids an look at it from an adults perspective even the third one only concentrated on kids which is okay for anime but it gets rather old having kids always save the world an the adults there for either being the villain or cameo purposes.
