The sadest Story ever written I m still in love with this series after all the time. It s Not only the story of those two. Everybody of the family is unhappy for itself. Really tragic. There are so many stories in this. Brilliant written.

It is glorious and beyond mortal words can convey, the ending has me sobbing everytime, seeing Father Ralph reduced to a feeble old man and the graceful, beautiful Meggie; their journey together. She was a child and she became a woman, a forbidden love that was meant to be

Im listening right now to the beautiful rendition of MAGGIES THEME ..ie the Thorn birds..ANY WHERE THE HEART GOES ..I had NO idea it was written and conducted by Henry Mancini , how very very beautiful it is and was…soo so very inspirational…and it makes one realize again how very important beautiful music is to make a good series even more outstanding and remarkable …and much loved !!

One of my favourite actresses for many years was JEAN SIMMONS who plays Maggies mother in The Thorn Birds..its sad that nothing much is ever mentioned about her acting, but if im correct she was up for a supporting actors award but dont think she got it…pity !! She was a beautiful young actress many years ago..and better looking than Elizabeth Taylor , as there was some rivalry at that time..

As a musician, Henry Mancini was one of my musical influences. For several years I gave concerts that were annual tributes to Mr. Mancini and his music. Just this theme itself practially brings tears to my eyes. I even had the privilege of attending a recording session once where he was recording a sound track, and years later was honored to meet him. The story is tragic, and Henry Mancini had such a deep understanding of the emotional elements of music. Such a tragic story, and such a beautiful, mournful melody. RIP, Mr. Mancini. You contributed so much!

This is the saddest love story I've already watched. Ralph and Meg has a beautiful, true and deep love, but It' s an impossible and painful love. This is really a very moving love story😢 The book is beautiful and fantastic as well.👏👏👏 This sad beautiful novel belongs to Australian Literature 📖

Man, when I first watched the four filmes of this series, I understood how deeply sad Meggie had been all her life. Ralph was but a coward who only though of his ridiculous ambition and was not man enough to see the true value jewel Meggie was. A man so stupid and blind not able to see daylight that Dane was the chip off his own old block. MEGGIE WAS THE TRUE WOMAN AND RALPH WAS NOTHING A MAN SHOULD BE. Shame on men like him. As for Meggie, she had to give up on everything, but in the end she could really catch on what GOD'S LOVE REALLY MEANT: TO LOSE EVERYTHING TO WIN IN THE END.

Had a woman I had been desperately in love with tell me that I AM Ralph! At the time I had no idea who that was, if it was good or bad. She was RIGHT. As a Roman Catholic Capricorn who desired to become a very pious priest, I learned soon enough I couldn't be a priest, after I'd begun tasting "forbidden fruit", ie female bodies. Unlike Ralph, though, I made my choice and paid heavy emotional and financial tolls anyway. The things they did to my heart, my mind, my body. Ruined me financially. I barely escaped false imprisonment too many times.😮

The piano is one of the marvelous instruments ever invented. When a pianist plays while I'm dining, it's a special moment for me. Same thing with classical guitars and other string and wind instruments.
