I think what went wrong with ARO is that she was more invested in one upping Prince William when he was making a speech at Diana Awards ceremony. All Markle could think of was putting out a flashy introduction at the exact same time when Prince William started speaking. There was no consideration about patents, products and having several episodes in the can (as they say in Hollywood), so that the shows seamlessly followed the flashy introduction.
