I am a retired foundation exec in US…I never raised money to put into reserves, my board of directors expected that I set a goal to raise at least the same amount year over year with a goal to raise plus %, and I never raised a red cent that I didn’t identify a need for developing…in other words, if they don’t have charitable goals why are they raising funds and putting them in reserve? Catherine, Princess of Wales has had to work incredibly hard to get where she is as a Queen in Waiting - learning the Royal ropes & gaining acceptance whilst DOİNG THE JOB! .. Most people see the Royals as being spoiled and privileged - but seriously, would ANYONE else really want their lives? They must sacrifice every last hope, dream & personal goal that they might have ever had for themselves. They are under constant scrutiny & loud criticism that few people could stand to bear. Their children must live their lives under the same scrutiny as their parents, and make the same sacrifices for Crown, country & Commonwealth.. They will never know what 'ordinary' is. Then there's the job - the BRF represents more than 3,200 charities in the UK each year, & in the slimmer Monarchy that's a lot of official engagements, plus there are all of the unofficial events as well. They are devoted to doing the job - which must always come first, second, and third - rain, hail or shine. Imagine a world where these charities didn't exist! Each individual organisation supports British communities commendably, and they couldn't maintain their financial standards without the support of their Royal patrons. The Royal family does a mighty job - for the UK and all of the Commonwealth - but I don't think they receive nearly the credit for their commitment & hard work much less for their sacrifices.
