Megan is an amazing artist. She deserved this award. In terms of statistics, Tori's most popular song, Should Have Been Us, peaked at 51 on the Billboard hot 100, while Meghan's most popular song, Like I'm Gonna Lose You, has peaked at number 8 on the Billboard hot 100. In addition to Like I'm Gonna Lose You, Meghan has had other songs off her album peak at numbers 14, 17, and 25. All About that Bass has also been on the chart for 37 weeks, while Tori's Hollow has only been on there 7 weeks. On top of this, Meghan has a music video that currently has 1.2 billion views. Meghan is clearly the more popular artist of the two. Outside of just statistics, Meghan's album, Title, is phenomenal. It is creative, original, and has such a fresh new sound. Her lyrics are full of ingenuity, and every song makes you want to listen to more. Her musical talent shines through in this album, and I will encourage you to consider her as a whole and listen to the whole album before you judge and say "Tori should have won". I'm not saying Tori isn't talented, everyone who was nominated for this award is amazing and is up there because they deserve it. However, only one person can win, and Meghan has a quality album along with outstanding popularity that many artists who have been performing for much longer haven't even achieved.
