“When you don’t have something it becomes easier to be more selective about what you buy” YES!!! I stand by this, now I throughly enjoy collecting at my own pace!!

Everything you said makes sense. I also just buy what I like bc I enjoy collecting a lot of different things but I have to be selective to save myself the space and money. Whenever you post I'll watch the video. What drew me to your channel was your excitement over your pulls and for the artists so posting only when you feel up for it is the way to go. I'm glad I found your channel ❤️

I'm in the same place, I'm trying to reduce what I buy so I'll enjoy going out without stressing too much about money. It's a struggle but we'll make it! I could listen to you talking for hours but I'm glad you're prioritising your Chicago trip over kpop albums!! I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun there!! Let's enjoy collecting without (too much) pressure 🤞 (I'm still buying plenty albums for got7 comeback but I managed to book a little weekend a few hours from where I live and I'm so excited about both) your chanel is such a peaceful place for me as well! Thank you for talking to us when you have the time!! You truly are the kindest

totally understand you on wanting to also spend money on your other interests! it cant all just be about kpop... u gotta treat yourself to trips/concerts/movies/festivals. i completely stopped buying albums in march of this year and it's been so nice on my wallet. no more outrageous shipping + import fees hehehe. i will collect photocards of my biases but i wont go at a fast pace and if i don't get the card immediately i can wait for it to pop up later on. albums take up so much space and im sure like some of us just look at it once or twice and put it on the shelf to collect dust. i did however find myself buying stationery and fountain pens and thats a rabbit hole i never thought i'd go down in but it makes me happy! do whatever u want meg! at the end of the day u gotta be happy about what u collect :)

This video is very comforting to me. I was also a victim of the whole “pandemic-craze” and I splurged all my money on kpop albums. When Covid was at its peak I was very pessimistic about concerts happening again in the next few years, so buying albums was the only way I could feel “connected” to the artists I support. This year k-pop concerts are back and I was lucky enough to be able to see Ateez (my ults) live. I had to fly from Italy to England to see the concert and it was VERY expensive, but It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. When I came back from the concert I had some sort of epiphany; I realized that experiences like that are going to stay with me forever, even if I stop listening to kpop at one point and sell my albums, the memories will remain. So I sold a big chunk of my collection and only kept what I really truly love and cherish. I will still buy albums because I love them, but I will limit myself to the version I love the most and I’m so much happier this way 🥰

Yea I started downsizing a lot by cutting back on buying new groups albums lol because shipping is just too much! Not to mention I got no room to store my all my albums in ugh! My room is so crowded and filled up with boxes and bins. It’s just so pressuring. That’s why I sell the ones I don’t need or just giveaway free extra albums to my friend :3

Omg meg, I've been feeling this exact way recently. Like when i saw jinki's japanese album comes with so many versions and the nct 127 dvd, i started stressing out! As someone that got into kpop during pandemic i had lots of extra funds but now that the world is opening up there are a lot of things that i need to pay for. So I've been really contemplating about how i collect. I like how you talked about the experiece vs things and this has been on my mind a lot because i have friends getting married or asking me to hang out and i dont want to stress about the money and not go because of kpop. So I'm trying to cut down on my spending right now. Also just want to say, i love watching your videos but i dont mind if you post less. Just post when you can and what you enjoy! Also have an amazing trip!

Thanks for sharing with us your collection plans! I think a lot of us are reassessing spending priorities now that things are opening back up. I hope you have fun in Chicago! Are there any concerts that you plan to go to this year?

I think you're doing the right thing. Don't feel bad or like you need to apologize for that. As of October I stopped collecting anything but photocards and I changed how I store them. Its so much less stressful. I collect what I like and I don't feel bad if I don't have everything. Being an adult with adult financial responsibilities is hard no matter how much money you make. I preordered several of the Proof standard versions and can send one to you if you are interested, with all the inclusions. I usually donate my duplicate albums so not a big deal to send you one. Let me know. 💜

This is a late comment but thank you Meg for sharing your thoughts with us:( And guess what? A lot of times I don't even LOVE some of the pcs, but I still collected them all because I felt like I need to mark every single card off a template. This was such a dangerous mindset for the wallet as well as my mental health, and I realized this has to change. Same with albums. Albums can be so expensive when you add in the international shipping fees, and tbh I barely flip through the photobooks, and they take so much space too...! so I've decided to only collect albums for my ult groups, and if I happen to love an album from another artist? I might get it at one point but I won't stress myself to pre-order anymore:) Anyways, to those who are struggling, I hope you will be able to enjoy kpop/collecting with a change of mindset:) And Meg, I hope you have a lot of fun traveling and doing things outside of kpop

I downsized a little, and will focus on the groups I collect. It’s also the room that albums take up . And i don’t want my room to look crowded . If you want I can send you the bigger proof version álbum without random inclusions, since I bought 3 for pobs and collecting 4 members. About onews jpn comeback i think I’ll buy it later since I won’t do pobs for japan.

I'm an ARMY, or maybe I'm a former ARMY. I've been feeling disconnected from them since last year. After 4 years of being a fan, this is the first time I didn't pre-order any of their releases. Not the DVD and not the album. And I feel okay with it. I can't even imagine myself saying this last year. They had a ridiculous series of merch drops almost once a week and it left a bad taste in my mouth. And I didn't like their last track. I have a massive BTS collection too and I'm seriously considering to sell them. It's just hard to start. I recently got into SHINee and they became my ultimate. I enjoy all their releases and the merch drops are not as overwhelming. And I'm happy to put all my money for them. Key will be coming here soon and I wish I'll get a ticket :)

Shinee are my últs of últs , and wow about key. I still am connected to Bts lol I didn’t enjoy their English singles so much, but idk I like them as people. My bias in Bts is Namjoon, still is but I think when I was slowly was detaching from Bts, Jimin & tae and their ptd fancams made me say I still like them lol. I will save to go to concerts.

@@eliana3638 That's good. I still have affection for all BTS members but they seem so distant now. Maybe it's on me, I don't know. But all I know is that I don't have the same feeling anymore. I just can't seem to like the musical direction they're going. My BTS bias is JK.
@eliana36382 жыл бұрын
@@chroniclesofalivingdeadgirl i think that’s understandable!. It’s normal to change your interest. Musically I vibe the most with shinee and love each member. Bts is the members the music can be a hit or miss. And yeah the merch drops were crazy. I was ok with not getting all of it. I will get some things. I got into tour pc collecting recently.

Omg I feel the same with BTS! The members will always have a special place in my heart, but I'm just not feeling the same connection that I once had with them anymore:( It is really sad and it took me a while to fully accept it, because just like you, I can't imagine myself saying this last year. Now that I've admitted it, it becomes much more easier to skip their releases and tbh I feel great now that I don't need to spend so much money on proof xD Also, congrats on finding another group that you vibe with! Hope you'll be able to see Key soon

@@mycaratzennieday9954 thanks. Yes, I'm happy that I found SHINee. I actually knew of them first but I didn't get to know them well enough to actually stan because BTS' lure was so strong. But I've been silently following SHINee unintentionally because I've been watching channels by Shawols. So when they had a comeback, I was ready to explore another group. It was also hard for me to admit it to myself. At some point of my life, BTS really made life more interesting. I got to experience a lot of things. Even went overseas just for concerts because of them. I'll always treasure that. But I guess BTS are like my friends whom I grew apart with. I wish them all the best still but I really decided not to collect them anymore. I even sold some merch already. Btw, yes, I got a ticket. I'LL BE SEEING KEY!!!
