I watched one other review with the same issue as you. The reason the top handle falls off is because the lobster clasp button is hitting the inside of the bag and dislodging. The review I saw fixed the issue by rotating the clasp the opposite way with the button facing outwards. This is easy to fix because the clasp is on a swivel. Hopefully that works for you. I would hate to see you return a bag you were excited for. Also I have the marlie in chalk and I love the snake print because it hides any dirt or wear on the top handle. It's also a beautiful light colored fall bag. Hope this helps!

The reason the clasps for the top handle are coming unclipped is a design flaw. You have to put the clasp clicker going outward because if inside facing will catch on leather top flap and cause the clasp to open, then releasing it from the ring. This bag is gorgeous. I would keep it knowing this flaw and just appropriately clasping the bag which will secure the strap.

So sorry you had to return. It's a very pretty bag. If you face the clasps a certain way they are less likely to come undone. I only use the crossbody strap; I was thinking that using them all together not only adds weight, but would cause the clasps to come undone , since they all occupy the same space. I have found that if the front pocket is full, it is much easier to turn the lock. I think the Marley is a great alternative to the Cassie 19.

The strap issue happens bc of direction you are putting the clasp. If the push part is faced in then the flap is able to push on it when you are lifting the strap up. I hope that helps you! 🙃

If all else fails, put a tiny, clear rubber band on the clasp so it can't slide open. They sell these tiny rubber bands in hair goods dept. at Walmart. That will be my backup for my new Tabby 26 with Beadchain, if needed. I couldn't bear to part with it. Its beautiful in Chalk with brass.

A way to tell you don’t really want something, it’ll be easy to find 300 reasons why you don’t! Also, if you wanted your phone to fit easily, why get an even smaller purse. The bag is beautiful though. Too small for me.

You are strapping the clasp wrong. Plus bag has too many clasp attached to the little dring. I have the regular Cassie and Parker 32 top handle with the same turnlock and I don't have problems closing and opening the bag. I think you are only trying to talk yourself out as the Cassie is more expensive

I had the Cassie 19 in black but I let mine go because of how heavy it got when I would carry all my items. Wanting your phone to fit in the back slip pocket easily is a very valid point if it’s a struggle. I also agree with the turn lock function being too small. The other issues you were experiencing I think is an easy fix as mentioned in the comments. But ultimately I think if you truly love a bag enough then you would look past all the issues and keep it but if it’s just not the bag for you then returning it is the right thing to do. You shouldn’t have to compromise on what you want in a bag if it doesn’t check all the boxes. Tfs!

That’s a shame you have this issue. I love my Cassie 19 and never had any issues with it, I’ve had mine for nearly a year now too... my suggestion could be the way you clasp it? As I make sure the pull thing is face out rather than in. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know it was just a suggestion.

I have the original Cassie size, and I absolutely love it - so much so that I have it in 2 colours! My straps never unhinge, but heard it is often a problem on the 19. I would highly recommend checking out the original size!

I’ve kept my Cassie 19 but use the short strap on other bags like the Coach Dreamer Shoulder Bag or any other ones that only come with long straps. But I want the Marlie!!! She’s so cute!

My coach Parker backpack does that until someone said if you but the hinge/clasp out (facing out rather than in idk if I’m making sense lol) it stays put but yeahs it’s annoying to have it do that I know I dislike that!

I love my Coach Cassie in Oxblood and my Cassie 19 in Black. My Cassie 19 did that once but I read that if I reverse the clasp it should help. I did that and it seems to have rectified my problem. I don't wear all three straps at the same time. But I have worn each one of the straps at one time or another and as long as I reverse the clasp I didn't have a problem with it unclasping. I have a 7 plus and it fits both Cassie's fine. However, I don't have a pop socket on my phone. Plus for me, I wouldn't want to stretch out the back pocket on the Cassie 19. Sorry, it didn't work for you. The Marlie is a nice bag but I didn't like that the top handle was not detachable and how it looked while wearing it as a crossbody.

I had a similar coach bag and the exact same thing kept happening to me. It just kept coming loose. When I returned it to Macy's, its like they did not believe me. It was 225.00. It must be a "thing" that is happening with this type of bag

get the marley in chalk. the snakeskin top handle is lovely and also will keep the handles from staining that you might experience with white leather.! i just ordered it in kelly green 🤪

Thank you for putting this out there. It's important to know even if the strap issue is a one off. I was eyeing this one as well but resorted for the Marlie one. Coach could have done/chosen a better design for the clasp. With the top handle and the shoulder straps having the same lobster clasp, it makes the bag look clunky. The clasps are not aesthetically pleasing to look at.
