@megynkelly I wonder if it has at all occurred to you the similarity between this case in the case of E. Jean Caroll versus Donald Trump? Isn't it odd that this young woman waited eighteen years to come forward to admit that she had fabricated an entire story and kept the world under a pretence that followed these young men around even as they were basically acquitted? But if all the years to come forward she chose a year when donald trump who lives under the shadow of that accusation and civil judgment come forward and admit that it's possible to completely lie and manipulate the public. It is almost like her confession is somehow divinely inspired. I know you probably do not read these comments. But I sure would like for you to make that parallel to people. At the time of the alleged attack of Carroll, She had a major column that was printed and I believed The New York Times and other night papers everywhere and yet for whatever reason. She did not use her voice to tell the world what had happened to her. I'm sorry but that just does not seem likely.

@RadagastBrown420 That is a totally ludicrous statement. Are you telling me that a league has existed for forty years or almost and they have not been able to Garner the interest that this one girl has in a year's time did it because of racism? I don't guess you've ever heard of that organization called the NBA? They certainly have had no trouble garnering interest. Caitlyn , clarke owes nothing to anyone when it comes to her Success in basketball, save Her coaches and maybe her parents. Is Caitlyn Clarke the first white player to ever play in the WNBA? The truth is the Is WNBA owes everything to her. She is the reason that the league is now getting the attention. It's so desperately needed. And instead of being appreciative they are jealous and petty. Several famous black male athletes have pointed to this as true. I would really like to know what privilege Caitlin Clark has had over her black predecessors? There have been female athletes in the wnba claiming White privilege and beauty privilege. But that girl is not pretty and never has been.

I firmly believe that when a woman makes demonstrably false allegations of this nature against a man or men, she should be charged & imprisoned for the same length of time those she falsely accused were facing. Obviously men who commit acts of sexual violence should be prosecuted, but "believe all women" as a blanket concept is completely wrong. I will give Crystal credit for coming clean & admitting her allegations were untrue, albeit many years after the damage was done. Great show, Megyn.

A woman over here in England just got 8 years in prison for falsely accusing multiple men of sa/grape. She accused one man of trafficking her and selling her for sex, claiming that he was physically a**sive. She took photos of herself with injuries and bruises, however, the police had cctv footage of her buying a hammer on the night she claimed this guy assaulted her. She literally beat herself with a hammer. In the end she confessed and pleaded guilty. She had caused so much despair and misery to multiple families, that the judge was utterly outraged, he said he felt he had no choice but to give a lengthy sentence. Believe all women though, right?

@@amylynnhunt55 I believe that she was 22. That is young! Living with a man, and having a child out of wedlock, while dancing as a stripper to make a dollar, all while living in a seriously bad neighborhood is a few examples of the road this young girl is on! Most young people from average families don't start out like this! I can just imagine what her childhood was like. Nevertheless, her life played out as we know it. She murdered her boyfriend and is paying the price for it. We all know that it is wrong to murder, it's not something that we are taught. She chose her own path when she made that decision. I don't know if mental illness played a part in her life.

@@amylynnhunt55 Let me also clarify one more thing. I believe this girl was a victim of her circumstances. I do not believe that she was a victim in this case of rape! I am more or less saying that she is the kind of girl that would do this.

I am a 30 year law enforcement veteran from North Carolina. This case culminated in a new law called the North Carolina Eyewitness Identification Reform Act. I teach what was Fox News' (your perspective, and I guess Britt Humes') when I have to cover this topic in Consitutional Law of Arrest, Search, and Investigation when I teach Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) in Wilmington, NC. I have had some politically correct students that seemed surprised by the truth of all of this, as many who were around, actually thought the players were guilty, and rich lawyers got them off. I show the videos of the initial line-ups, and the follow-up line-ups ordered by Nifong. They are all shocked at how the detectives hinted towards the identitiy of the suspects. Hence the new law, brought about by the behavior by LEO during the course of the identification procedures. Nifong forced them to do the second line-ups after Mangum was unable to identify any suspect in the initial line-ups. It is so obvious to me, in hindsight, that Nifong did have political motives to pander to the minority community by going after these rich white kids from Duke. Additional tragedy not really reported too much in the media is that both investigators Gotlieb and the other, can't recall his name committed suicide subsequent to all the chaos. So, its an important case to nail home to cops in training, to not allow politicians to direct your investigations. The facts are the facts, regardless of any politicians wishes. Never exaggerate facts, or alter them to suit a politician. The NC EIRA stands as a good law that reformed Law Enforcement conduct in performing out of court identification procedures. Thank you for the deep dive! More people need to understand what happened here, because its a microcosm of what has been happening in our country on the National level since Ferguson, MO under President Obama. Obama Duke Lacrossed our entire county after Ferguson, by injecting himself into the story. Then the George Floyd case capitalized on that sentiment to crucify law enforcement nationwide in the midst of the pandemic. I will soon retire, and its kind of a massive shame on our nation what we have allowed to happen to law enforcement in this country. Thank you for your in depth re-hashing of this case subsequent to Mangum's recent revalations!

Thanks for sharing this story which brought me into tears. . I am an Asian who spent university years studying in Canada and most of my career in Hong Kong. Upon returning to Canada for retirement in 2021, I am so stock there was so much WOKE and DEI elements in our day to day life in Toronto. Maybe I am too sensitive to these new changes, I stopped going to Yorkdale Mall as they converted a lot of their washrooms into unisex. I simply don’t want to looking in the mirror to put on my lipstick while next to me is a male stranger. 😢

E. Jean Carroll did the same to Trump. I can’t walk into a dressing room w/o staff stopping me to check my garments in and out yet E. Jean Carroll says Trump entered a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room unseen. Not only would staff been swarming her with champagne and assisting her they would’ve been doing the same to him too had he been there.

That case is why I have repeatedly taught my daughter, 14, IDGAF how much you hate someone, an ex, a crush, whoever, YOU NEVER LIE ABOUT ASSAULT. She knows, She will need her jaw wired shut. I taught my son to never be alone with a girl he didn't know. If he wants to break up with a girl, record it for his safety. She should've gone to prison for half as long as they would've gotten. The era of women lying, destroying someone's life and walking away has got to end. God commands we forgive. Even her. I just can not imagine being in their shoes and having to do it. 😢

I have a 21 year old son at a fairly prestigious private school at which he worked hard to earn a scholarship to attend. He is a business major. He is in a fraternity. It chills me to the bone to think that there are people in the world who would be happy to destroy his life because he is white and was lucky enough to be born to upper middle-class parents. Young men like this, poised on the cusp of having a good and contributing life, having good families and friends, going to church, being good citizens, and making the world and their communities better places, exist all over our country. The idea that anyone would delight in ruining their lives because of identity politics makes me sick. Thank God Americans were smart enough to elect who we did.

I didn't know anything about this case, so thank you Megyn. I hope the young men and their families are doing well after going through such terrible events. When prisoners find God in jail they seem always to want to tell us God has forgiven them. I don't know why, but it just irritates me. Forgiveness is such a personal thing. While one might feel God has forgiven them, nobody can compel someone else to forgive -- I think that's the bit that bugs me.
