Knoxville: Bought my house 13 years ago for $40k. A place one block away with far less square footage just sold for $313k. A place that sold for $50k, not far from here, just went for $439k. They actually thought they might get $515k when they put it on the market. The last Presidential administration removed restrictions on corporations just scooping up property without previous waiting periods. Local, first time homeowners are getting boxed out and renters are getting kicked out with greater frequency, again and again, with rent exploding. It's been disturbing to watch.

In 1958 my mom bought a 1500sqft house in Pacific Beach San Diego for 12,500 dollars. In 2017 it sold for 1,375,000 dollars. The corner of Chalcedony and Gresham. A year ago it was valued at 2,250,000 dollars. Eight blocks due east from the beach. California has gotten so expensive that the common man has a hard time living there.

Remember that LA, San Diego and the densely populated San Francisco Bay Area Liberal voters decide what’s “best” for the entire state. For many of us, we vote, but it’s not even a drop in a bucket. Adam is 58. I played in front of him in pop warner. He lacked talent, but he never lacked guts. Adam was tough as nails and never quit. Our QB was a tough kid as well. Being a Realtor in the state of Indiana I have personally assisted buyers coming in from California. My client cried with me on the phone sharing her story. @@sheneedsme Actually it wasn't a landslide. Charlie Criss won 40% of the vote which surprised me. All of that 40% was in the south and central part of the state and he was governor of Florida once before. I still think President Trump should team up with Governor DeSantis. President Trump can only serve another four years and them I'd vote for DeSantis to be president. My concern is they will compete with each other and that would be bad. Yes, I know President Trump is rough to deal with; but, DeSantis is a naval officer, so he has already learned how to control his tongue and even though he has done an excellent job governing the state of Florida, he was an unknown before he got elected. The Democrats ran such an awfully narrow minded, chip on his shoulder black man to oppose unknown DeSantis. If they had run Charlie Criss instead of a very poor choice of candidate in 2018, I'm not sure DeSantis would have won. It was a hold your breath and vote for the unknown rather than elect a person with very narrow vision and a victim attitude. DeSantis has proven himself to be a winner and he can go far, I'd just like to see him learn first hand from President Trump for another four years as Vice President.

When I visit Austin it’s similar to LA but when I visit other parts of Texas not so much. It’s not always “the people having liberal ideas,” take a look at who’s running your local government in Austin and El Paso. Californians have been welcoming people from across the world and country since the 60s and 70s. Georgia here. My neighbors are from there and you can keep them ! First thing they did was give me a "woke speech" then preceded to tell me I am too old to live in the mountains (65 years old in great health and on no medications) and that I should move closer to my children and sell them my cabin ! Insulting ! They even wanted to clear all the trees off the slope for a view (they didn't own, but had a crew ready to cut anyway till I pointed out there was an owner). They leave on multi lines of blinding outdoor lightbulbs on all night and I can not see the stars anymore. Leave trash where the bears get at it and don't pick up. You make the wrong choice if you move out after you retire. CA does not tax Social Security benefits, pensions or other post retirement income. If you own a home you are protected with Prop 13 so property taxes will not go up much at all, and CA has decent health care. There really is no reason to move after you retire. Working in CA is another story. To be honest CA is one of the best states to retire in, you are paying next to nothing in taxes because they already collected it when you were working.

Adam is SPOT ON. I've lived in SoCal my whole life. VERY rarely would people leave. It's always been expensive real-estate-wise, but everyone stays for the fantastic weather. Now? People are leaving in droves. A colleague of mine (I'm a teacher) who moved to another state last year will be making over $10K LESS per year, but because of CA's ridiculous taxes, gas prices, housing prices, higher costs at stores bc businesses are taxed to death, she'll be BETTER off financially. Not to mention her house will be more than double the size of her CA house for a LOWER mortgage payment.

I’m still in California. I’ve thought about moving to Kansas since my great niece and nephews are there BUT they’ve got a democrat Governor too. I’d say to anyone thinking to come here for a vacation, don’t waste your money. No city is without a homeless epidemic, crime, trash everywhere, etc. It is a true shit hole. The police won’t come anymore if someone is trespassing on our property. We have to wait to call when the trespasser is trying to pry open doors or windows. But hey, get a kids drive by birthday party torn down during covid lockdowns, they’re on it!

My grandfather was born in Salinas left some properties to my dad. My dad passed away 3 yes ago. Left behind a large real estate holding including my grandparents property. The bill passed prop 19. Everything got reassessed Everything worth over a million now. Went from $200 a month to $1200 a month. Long time tenants some related. Not even breaking even. So we sold some and our tenants got displaced. Pay $400-800 a month . They had to move to Arizona to be able to afford a place to live. Long time Californos. Breaks my heart.

He speaks the truth. We left5 years ago and haven't looked back. We ended up in Wisconsin. We bought a 4300 Sq ft home on 8 acres here for 155k. This place in cali would've been roughly 4 million out there. I had worked for the state of California when I was there in the Food and Agriculture department. Four ten hour shifts where I had roughly one hour to an hour and a half of work per day. we had 10 people in my office. Had I had all of their workloads I would've had a good 40 hour work week but instead they paid 10 of us for about an hours worth of work a day. It was one of the most egregious waste of money I'd ever seen. we were just a small office, now compound that kind of bloat to that giant state.
