You are right, sir. Maalwoon tak deep sung by Lata ji and this ghazal are based on the same raag, which is not a traditional raag. Some people in India call it Bhoopeshwari or Bhoopshri. It is, as Mehdi Hassan saheb put it: Sa Re Ga Pa dha Sa, whereby dha is komal. I will say that this is the best ghazal which I have ever listened to. And I have been listening to ghazals since last 34 years. No words for Mehdi Hassan saheb, one of the best sons of Rajasthan.

This is indeed modified Raag Bhupali / Bhoop. Ustad Jee changed Shudh Dheevat (Dha), remaining 4 Notes are same as traditional Bhupali.
