Yes, ofcourse base canvas is given by Nisar Bazmi Sahab for film version. But the way Mehdi Hassan Sahab took this gazal and added some classical intricacies for the live performance, it came out as completely different version. But, yes composer Nisar Bazmi Sahab was also no less and needs to be attributed for the creation of this soul stirring tune.

well Zia my friend it's neither and it's not an Urdu word and I am an Urdu speaker and proud of my pronunciation. The word is yaman, rhymes with zaman, dahan, lagan. If you still don't get it , you never will.

+Avinash Pandey bro the raag was named by Hazrat Ameer Khusro after a valley in Iran called Vadi-e-ayman so its ayman/aimen but no harm in calling yaman which people consider is named after the yamuna river the name is disputed between aimen valley and yamuna river so its ok to use which one u prefer i prefer aimen coz i know a buff girl named aimen XD
