Delighted to listen to this magnificent treat - penned by Khatir Ghznavi Saab - in the soulful voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab - all over again - ofcourse in a different orientation altogether ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulfully did the great Khan Saab perform it ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it thoroughly ! "Bahul Hi Sukun Mila Sunkar !" What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he had an uncanny ability to render the tragic and romantic nuances of the Urdu couplets with equal proficiency and consummate ease - owing to his magical voice and inimitable style of gayiki ! Agonies and ecstasies of life got fully reflected in his renditions ! He had given ghazal gayiki a pedestal, which will be very difficult to surpass ! Such a resourceful singer will ever tread this path again in the world ! Oh, what a terrible loss it was ! It was as if the ROOH( SPIRIT) of ghazal gayiki had gone, along with his sad demise !

It's my pleasure, 🙏 ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was an Indian in as much as he was a Pakistani ! The great Khan Saab originally hailed from a small hamlet called 'Luna' in 'Jhunjunu' district of the state of 'Rajasthan,' India, wherein sixteen generations of his family lived, until he migrated to Pakistan in the year 1947, along with his parents, following partition of the country ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab had himself admitted about it in a live interview - courtesy - Lok Virsa (available via KZbin) ! Personally speaking, I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have born during the lifetime of this legendary singer and gem of a person ! Let it be known that I find utmost pleasure and satisfaction in commenting on the renditions of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, who happens to be my all time favourite ! In doing so, it hardly matters for me - as to whether someone will like it or not ! Because, I use to write for my own satisfaction ! However, I always reserve the right to self - defence, whenever my such comments are misconstrued and misinterpreted ! If someone takes an affront to it, it's certainly one's problem ; not mine !

گو ذرا سی بات پر برسوں کے یارانے گئے لیکن اتنا تو ہوا کچھ لوگ پہچانے گئے گرمئ محفل فقط اک نعرۂ مستانہ ہے اور وہ خوش ہیں کہ اس محفل سے دیوانے گئے میں اسے شہرت کہوں یا اپنی رسوائی کہوں مجھ سے پہلے اس گلی میں میرے افسانے گئے وحشتیں کچھ اس طرح اپنا مقدر بن گئیں ہم جہاں پہنچے ہمارے ساتھ ویرانے گئے یوں تو وہ میری رگ جاں سے بھی تھے نزدیک تر آنسوؤں کی دھند میں لیکن نہ پہچانے گئے اب بھی ان یادوں کی خوشبو ذہن میں محفوظ ہے بارہا ہم جن سے گلزاروں کو مہکانے گئے کیا قیامت ہے کہ خاطرؔ کشتۂ شب تھے بھی ہم صبح بھی آئی تو مجرم ہم ہی گردانے گئے خاطر غزنوی
