2 things to add and one question: - Looks like the lens has very good bokeh in foreground (before the focus plane) which is impressive. - My 15mm Distagon focus way past infinity on my BMPCC6K and I find good as it doesn't reach 100% infinity with my MC-11 adapter on my Sony A7 III (floating element design is a f*cking pain when used with adapters) - Were the flare images made without the filter? Footage looks impressive, will try to test one when it reaches market/my country, for sure.

Great video Flo! I only have the sigma 18-35 for my bmpcc 6k and was considering an affordable cinema lens. I'm in between the Meike 35mm T2.1 s35 or the 50mm, Since I already have the 35mm range on the sigma.. But it might be too tight since I mostly shoot travel/fashion videos.. Have you tried the 50 yet? and do you see a lot of difference from the Meike 35 and the sigma zoomed at 35mm? Thanks man!
@OfTwoLands4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching !! I haven't tried the 50mm yet so can't really compare but I think it is safe to say that it will have character and look of the 35mm which means it is great and quite different from the more clinical sigma. That being said I love how versatile the sigma is too. I think it comes down to the look you want and if you are ok with using cinema lenses rather than stills zooms. To me the sigma and canon 16-35 are hard to beat for travel.

If I buy this 35mm lens, will it be real 35 or do I have to take the crop factor into consideration? I've read somewhere there are many more S35 lenses coming - 18, 25, 50, 75 and 105 mm. If there's no crop factor with these, I'd jump for them right away! (well, when they're actually available). Thanks for the answer!

The crop is determined by sensor size not the lens. For instance a 35mm lens built to cover full frame will have the same field of view on a S35mm chip that this lens does.

Nice video. I have the ef Samyang (Rokinon) 35 t1.5 as well as the 24 and 16. Any thoughts on the image quality of this lens in comparison to the Samyangs/Rokinons? My main issues with the Samyang 35 and 24 is sharpness drops off significantly below T2 and there's some ghosting and CA. Hi, I use a Meike Cine Lens 35mm T2.2 on my Fuji X-T3 and a Meike 25mm T2.2 on my Lumix G9/G85. While the 25mm is a standard lens on MFT it is a wide angle on Fuji’s APS-C sensor. I’m pretty sure the optical design of both 25mm lenses is the same. I am very happy with the 25mm. I have also Meike’s Cine 12mm T2.2 as a MFT wide angle. Nevertheless, I use my standard lens(es) much more often. It’s such a versatile lens. I recommend the 35mm T2.2 because there are so many things that can be done with the focal length of 35mm on an APS-C camera. Whenever possible I use the 25mm and the 35mm at T4 but even at full aperture they are already great lenses. 😊

That was fantastic. This is exactly the kind of image I want!!! Love this lens, man. I'm actually planning to get the pocket 6k pro and I've been looking for lenses, thinking the best option would be the canon 16-35mm EF, cause I also do videos like in front of the desk, but I love the image of this Meike. So, there is no 21mm EF yet??? Thanks so much!!!

Reminds me of the Rokinon 35mm I had. Not sure if it's the 6k but the visuals look more digital than the film look. Is this the lens or 6k that does this?
@OfTwoLands4 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t really look digital to me so can’t really answer haha. I really like the image though :).

@@OfTwoLands Image is nice no doubt. I'm not sure either why it looks so different than the original lol. I've heard different things about sensor being similar to Sony line and other things, but regardless the lens looks good paired with it.

Whats the focal lenght of the s35 on the bmpcc6k? How many times, do yo add it up to get correct?

The bmpcc 6k has a 1.6 crop so it’d be a 56mm equivalent

When using it for the bmpcc4k, being a T2.1, is it a true 2.1 aperture or actually a 4.2 being MFT?

@@freejay3 The effective aperture of a lens is the same no matter the mount. T2.1 is same unless you are using a speedbooster on your P4K

I would love to see this too. I have the full Rokinon set, but I'm ready to move on. These Meike lenses look noticeably sharper wide open. There's also character to these lenses that the Rokinon's don't have. It's hard to say without doing side to side. Can't wait to see the full range of Meike full frame lenses coming soon.
