I can't imagine the pressure Shin Hye Sun must have felt getting the prima ballerina role but having to learn ballet from scratch IRL to make it work. All this while being surrounded by real ballerinas including the actress who played Nina - who all probably learned the choreography quickly. It must have been physically and mentally draining trying to keep up. But she pulled it off. She truly deserves all the accolades she's getting for this role. She previously said in past interviews that she doesn't dance and only does when she's drunk, so for her to take on this role head on is truly remarkable, not to mention the producers' faith in her ability for casting her.

Not a ballerina, but I do dance. Believe me, it's really hard to learn to dance from scratch, especially ballet with its distinctive posture and all. And Shin Hye Sun here just show everybody what DEDICATION is. She is PASSIONATE about acting, we all can tell, and it shows through how much effort she put into this. Shin Ye Sun really is amazing, but they did use a body double for the scenes when she's on pointe, for example. It's pretty easy to spot the scenes with the double, actually. As a ballet dancer myself, it kinda hurts when people think someone can just "learn ballet in a few months"... but congrats to her, she did a great job compared to the time she had to practice for it :) Kim Bo Mi was amazing too! It was obvious from the very first moment that she was a trained ballet dancer!

What I really love about Korean Dramas is that they are actually putting a lot of efforts when it comes making their every characters real. When their characters are Pianist, Chef, Doctor, etc., they will work and practice hard to make it like they are really in that profession.
