@juliuswaxman37582 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingisFire Their music is something that has definitely grown on me over time. As a musician, I have always appreciated and respected their talent, but in the last 2 or 2 1/2 years, I've really become a fan instead of just appreciating it without getting into it. Same thing happened to me with Meshuggah. When I first heard them back in the early 2000's, I couldn't really wrap my head around their stuff and didn't have much interest in anything that wasn't in a straight 4/4 groove that I could nod along to, but over time as I've studied and practiced more and become a better drummer and all around musician I've come to truly enjoy the music. To be fair, back in 2000-ish, I was still a huge Limp Bizkit fan, so my tastes have certainly evolved and (in my opinion) improved vastly over the decades since.

Been calling Matt a Modern Great for a while now. Far Advanced. This man literally goes down in history as one of the world's greatest drummers in the legacy of musicians while still be fairly young. Not just because he's able to perform and come up with the baddest drum grooves and rhythms, not only because his schooling and dedication to the craft beyond the grind of a musician sleeping in a van to perform the gigs, but he's also teaching viewers on his website and still elevating his already amazing skills keeping everything fresh. As an indirect student from his website any time I even see Matt, it's time to hit the kit and workout the second I get off work. He signed my Byzance Crash and he inspires me as a practitioner to keep reaching for that feel and tightness and its helped me perform with awesome artists learning from the way he educates students. I hope this guy keeps skyrocketing as a person and as an honorary dedicated composing drummer. Edit: "Quite My Tempo." 🔥

I was a “serious dedicated drummer” all my youth- turned to hardcore bodybuilding in my 20s and 30s- now retired and back to my first passion- and this video hit all the right spots. The tension building during the montage, hoping he would be back in time for his cue- and of course, the “power bro walk down the hall”- it has been so cool to watch Mr. Gartska grow and evolve over this last decade. Nothing makes my soul happier than true “earned arrogance”. Thank you, Matt.
