Oiga, tremendo swing y sabor. Estas tomas de sonido cortas de Meinl estan muy bien realizadas. Deberian unirlas en un disco. Me quede con ganas de maaaaas. Muchas veces la "musicalidad" Audiofila que todos buscan se encuentra en grabaciones en vivo en un local reducido, pero con todos los musicos presentes y sin artificios de postproduccion. Creo que este es el secreto del sonido que todos buscan hoy dia y que se "perdio" al llegar la masterizacion digital y el CD. Bravo.

This doesn't use classic meinl drums, there are Remo heads on them! What's even the point of this if it isn't meinls original sound? Do your heads just not sound good enough?

the heads obviously affect greatly the sound, but what Meinl sell is the congas as such, when you buy an instrument you can put wherever the heads you want on them. It's very rare for a drum manufacturer, it doens't matter if we talk about congas, bongos or even a drum set to supply their instruments with quality heads from factory, not only Meinl, and yes, Meinl conga stock heads are not that good in my opinion.

Hello Jacob, please allow us to explain. We are proud of our drums and the natural heads that come with them. Having said that, we also need to show that synthetic heads fit our drums and that they sound just as good, just different. The reality of the percussion industry these days is that some people prefer natural and some prefer synthetic, it all depends on the situation - also depends on the place you live in. Hi Meinl, it's a great thing you respond to your customers. I'm a big fan of your brand, actually all the percussion instruments that I have in my drumset are meinl and also the bongos that I use, I have a pair of woodcraft bongos which I love. The thing about the drum heads is my personal opinion and I think is like that for all percussion and drum manufacturers in general, but as I said is just a personal opinion. When I buy a drum for me the important thing are the shells and the hardware, the heads for me are like the strings of a guitar or the tires of a car, they come and go, the drum is what stays, if I don't like the stock heads I change them for others that fit my taste, that was my point.
