I totally get that and I've been there, too. But I am a musician first and I always try to find a part that elevates the song. I am not trying to fit in as many notes as I can or pull off something flashy. Not with this song which is kind of quiet. Nevertheless, I do think that the drum part is not your average pop song drum part 👀😊 But then again: What do I know? 😇

@@JostNickel Oh yes! I remember that awesome video. Question. Does it matter which splash cymbals you can use on particular crash cymbals? I am guessing it is personal preference. I am thinking about buying some splash cymbals to add to my drumset.

@@jalthealusdavis8762 theres a pad between splash and crash so they are their own sounds. That's just a way to save space. I like my splashes on their own stands

Funny you mention Sting. Jost's perfect cross-stick sound reminds me of Vinnie's sound on Seven Days.
