I've watched probably all of the Meinl performance videos and have to say....this guy is one of the ones that I come back to the most. This is basically a perfect example of playing for the song. When you play a pocket this deep, big chops are virtually meaningless.

For real those Tama Stars are so resonant even after adding multiple moon gels and e rings. I fucking can't wait to get my Walnut/Birchs. I also love how intentional all Meinls are in recording situations. Their voices are all independent and purpose made. 🖤⚡️🖤

Nice tune, nice playing...I do not dislike the dark ride, but the ride area sounded a bit too quiet for me - so I would prefer a little more ping volume...I never had dark cymbals, so maybe the quieter aspect is on par for dark rides...I think he's using nylon tips (so I would not necessarily attribute my impression to the sound of wood tips)...but again, nice tune, nice playing...
