I think it so funny that Augustus The Strong is said to have traded 600 soldiers for 151 pieces of porcelain. Can't imagine how that made the soldiers feel.

Books will never be replaced - I don't care what technology will make possible in the future. Some of us will always want to be surrounded by walls covered with wooden shelves, straining under the weight of traditional books. Kindle's are great for flights. Audiobooks are wonderful for driving. But nothing will ever make paper and ink books obsolete.
