The "subjective" obstructions that conceal "our" or the Essence or the "Mind of God" and Permeating Spirit of All Things ( that we share) are different in each of us.

He says that inwardly the soul is devoid of form or images so that it can be united to God. If this is the case then the soul must of necessity be already united with God. Also, can an idea or image of love and any other pure mental images that do not have a physical appearance, be know without the external senses? Of course, so is naive to say images come through the senses.

@@ThomiX0.0 I really forgot the track. Can you explain me what Eckhart's belief is?
@ThomiX0.04 жыл бұрын
@@MarcosBetancort , he was a Christian preacher from the 12/13 century. He had a difficult job in translating the 'non Christian' by the Christian words.., and because of that became a target for the famous 'Inquisition' in his later life.
@MarcosBetancort4 жыл бұрын
@@ThomiX0.0 yes sure. But did he believe that we eventually become what we in reality are, God? Or take an eternal duality like in more traditional view?
@MarcosBetancort4 жыл бұрын
@@ThomiX0.0 right, I understand the theory at least. But my question was about Eckart´s belief, did he believe what you said? because this is not found in the christian thought, I say this because you said that he was a christian. Your understanding if I am not wrong is more like the Buddhist one about the absolute nothing. So, I believe what the Bible teaches, that our souls will live in an eternal union with God so there will be a different dimension fit to that experience in an ever approaching progress to God. one of the reasons is that Jesus rose from the dead with the same body that died and then disappeared with that body.

I'm shock at the misquoting of Paul just to fit his teaching. Is is precisely what he avoided in the misquote that brings his teaching to naught. This verse scorns Eckhart's teaching: The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

He literally didnt misquote anything. It's the exact verse translated correctly as it was origionally written. Your bible has been translated so many times the true teachings have been lost in translation. You have thrown out the baby with the bath water.
@MarcosBetancort3 жыл бұрын
@@JewessChrstnMystic do you have the right one then? Because you said that he quoted rightly. It is not my translation, I was mot born believing it was my translation. It is the text as it has always been. And if is not, tell me the sources of your bible from where he is quoting please.

This mystical experience is not what the Jesus spoke o new birth. This is just the awakening of the latent being of which we are made, the Christian new birth is about receiving a new life or being that produces in reason and heart a love to His image, as the Apostle Paul said, God who said let there be light shone in our hearts the glory of the knowledge of Him in the face of Jesus Christ. If we just exist to live only inwardly and neglect the other faculties we this experience would be the highest, but God's work is to make our minds and hearts and body totally one and whole in love and righteousness through the beatific vision of Jesus dying and rising for our salvation. This is love, the experience that Eckhart speaks of, cannot be called properly love. If our end was to be dissolved metaphysically, then this experiece would make sense, but it would be lacking if we will receive an eternal body and individuality, for Jesus is risen this way forever.
@marthawissmann82684 жыл бұрын
Marcos Betancort I think you are making things an either or proposition . There is much literature about how inward relationship with God in silence propels many to express this love outwardly to others and the world. Think of St Francis or Mother Theresa. Both mystics.
@MarcosBetancort4 жыл бұрын
@@marthawissmann8268 you said "This love". Read what Jesus said about it. Read what Paul said, that there are two spirits. The revelation of God as Jesus dying for our sins is a different manifestation than being awareness of God as love. The one is an enhancement of the other and without it there can not be redemption of the soul, that is why people who hold to the natural awareness only reject the permanence of the soul distinct from God.
@shanebrowne4297 Жыл бұрын
@@MarcosBetancort your problem is you read too much and experience too little. I have experience this process and honeslty its difficult to even claim to understand the meaning of the word love unless you have gone through this inward journey. Park your arrogance to one side for a second and consider the possibility that Eckhart had a spiritual experience that you yourself have not. He is describing something he did not something he read.
@MarcosBetancort4 жыл бұрын
I find rather a play of words when he says God has not image and then goes on to explain how the Son is begotten. But if God had no image, meaning a perfect timeless knowledge of Himself, this then implies that what God creates is created with no relation to him. But how can this be so? Whatever is created by God that is not Himself fully, must be shaped by something of God. So, if God has not image then the world and universe has not resemblance to Him in nothing, it does not speak of his power or anything, which is absurd, for the universe is a product of His power and thus an image of Him in that regard. To say that God is the negation of all and the negation of all negation, does not argue that at the same time His the very positive reality of all. Thus He must have a perfect image of Himself, and is not us nor the universe but the Logos who in human form is called Jesus. I think, from what I read, Eckart distances himself even from Pseudo Dionisius who is more balanced.
@MarcosBetancort4 жыл бұрын
According to one of his sermons that I read (16b) he speaks of God's image...I guess what he is saying here is that God does not create by a medium image but immediately ediatly, thus the Son is his image without intermediate.

We're all just a thought in the mind of GD. Nature is from Him, and all things will return to Him. Besides Him, there's nothing. He is ONE... with everything. We don't even know His name, only His titles! But on the day of GD, we'll all know His name, and His name is ONE.
