I don't understand why Meizu aren't one of the biggest manufacturers in the world. I always loved flyme and their design. But the problem is they do not put enough time and resources into their Operating system and camera optmizations. They should have launched properly in Europe and have carrier deals by now, with 3 + years of updates and proper support. For some reason they have never been able to do this properly and compete with other big Chinese brands despite having great potential in their products

@@corsinivideos Yes. Meizu 17 came out with Flyme 8 (Android 10). Now it has Flyme 10(Android 13). That's 3 major OS updates.

It’s sad indeed it seems like they have tried retailing in Europe as I remember seeing their popular m5c lines in retailers like Fnac in Europe but it didn’t catch on. Politics also have to do with it. Once Trump banned Huawei most of the Chinese brands slowly phased out of the shelves. Xiaomi survived by opening their own shops in big cities but it’s just not what it used to be 10 years ago. I really like the design of this one a perfect mix of the Samsung S22 design coupled with an iPhone 12 design. Even Oppo tried that with the Reno 6 and 7 5G which got very popular in Switzerland for a while.

Yeah all Meizu flagships from the MX4 Pro to the 15th/15th Plus had a 32bit ESS Sabre DAC, similar to the LG V- and G- series. Really underrated feature. Apparently on the Meizu 16 the in-built Qualcomm DAC was also modified by Meizu and included some decent circuitry and shielding. Shame that Meizu (nobody else really) cares about audio quality on phones via 3.5mm now. Sony ought to throw in a good DAC into the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 series, they're pretty much the only company still including useful enthusiast features.

I've been buying Meizu phones eversince the MX4 Pro, which I still think was the most excited and blown away by a smartphone purchase I've ever been! Now that was an amazing device at that point in smartphone history! The next time I was super excited by a Meizu was when I purchased the 16th. Now that was another brilliant release by Meizu, it was an all round winner, doing everything really well and having a stunning design and build quality. Since then, I've strayed away from Meizu, unsure why tbh, possibly because they began pricing their flagships too high, certainly too close to the prices Samsung and Apple were asking, which is FAR TOO MUCH! I actually started buying the Poco series of devices, the last one being the F4 GT, which is one hell of a phone given the crazy price it sells for. Anyway I believe that Meizu have lost their way and need to refocus on releasing excellent devices at a awesome price point like they used to do, rather than trying to compete with Samsung and Apple.

Still.. even if it's throttle at heavy usa for it's small heatsink inside.. It's still better than SD 8 Gen 1+.. also build quality seems better than those plastic $400 mid range Also, 6.55 is a nice size, all 6.7+ phones are just too big fo avg users It's decent phone, miles better than uber mid range famous brands (Sam, Oneplus..etc)

And the statement about blurriness sounds strange. SuperAmoled diagonal pixel layout is actually worse for rendering text, and you can clearly see in the zoomed sample that clarity is better on Meizu with dimmed pixels on black area of letter 'T' on Xiaomi whereas same area is black on Meizu
