One of the best Meja songs. Her first 3 solo albums are amazing. I'm amazed Meja didn't have more success ouside of Sweden and Japan. While her videos could always have been better, her songs are catchy and she is very easy on the eyes. I guess her label (Sony) dropped the ball. A bit ironic Meja discovered Robyn and that little girl went on to have more success than Meja. Robyn deserves it of course, but I still feel Meja got cheated by fate. :)

Looking back I think that was largely due to not catering to 'western influence' in the composition style of her music and videos. For the sake of her art, think that's for the best.

This song and How Crazy are You are two songs I'm quite surprised didn't get air time. Nothing about her style sounds out of place with whats typical for the time and im not saying that as if its an issue. I mean that in the best way

@@stormcutter59 I was soft stepping with how I was trying to convey that. I'll be more direct. If record execs in the states had creative influence (or sometimes control) over the video for 'How Crazy are You' it would have likely looked like a scene from MTV's Beach House. Why? Cuz that's what those same execs felt sold well in that genre back then. I also have to imagine the song would have sounded different, too. I'd bet that slide guitar and its solo would have been mixed out and replaced (even though the use of it added creative depth). Not a critique, just how I observed things back then. Now if you want a cut-n-dry example of how the composition of a song can change when it goes across the pond and a U.S. Label's producer is involved, Ready to Go by Republica. There's an original on the album as well as what's called the U.S. Mix, Remixed by Ben Grosse. For a lot of other bands he was the label's Producer. I think of him as an example of 'the guy in the room'. Just how much influence does a Producer have? In 1989 Geffen Record producer Bruce Fairbairn kept a song off Aerosmith's Pump album cuz Steven Tyler wouldn't relent to a name change of the song. That song... Deuces are Wild. Another problem is back then that the record execs have always exerted a lot of influence over radio stations as well. So they had to push the artists that played ball with the label.
