Permaban probably not. Her playstyle is mostly just similar to Lux/Xerath/Hwei as Artillery Mage with an addition to a very long block cooldown. She has no mobility and is very vulnerable to non-projectile champions or those that don't really use them.

she does seem overtuned in her current state but based on kit I don't actually think she will be a balance nightmare unlike some other recent releases. pretty easy to just nerf damage numbers to reflect how safe she is

she's not overtuned. She can be easily outplayed because she only does a couple of things. she blasts and she reflects. Shes not like ambessa with a million dashes, shield, vamp, ect all in one kit

@@damienmcgirl3577 overtuned and overkitted are different things. even a champ that had literally no skills and only a melee auto attack could be overtuned if you gave them enough stats. I simply think they twisted the dial on her damage a little too high for how safe she is so she will be a bit op in her current state and then get nerfed to a good healthy spot. like you literally just said i was wrong and then agreed with my entire point

I've been hoping from every mel video to the next to pass this information on. Her ult tells you when it can execute when the icon above their head transforms. [She has no max stacks btw for anyone wondering but the drop off timer for them is real.] [Burn doesn't execute, only abilities and AA's execute including reflected abilities] Also, burn items aren't really insane on her cus late game her flat dmg is just really good for wave clear anyway. Ho,wever this is just what I've seen from other Mel gameplay vids and tested in training room. For now, horizon focus is a p good item along with that gun item that fires shots on hit (I am p sure it applies overwhelm but don't quote me on that?). Burn might be good into enemy comps with little engage. Burst is good into squishy champs, Mel really counters other spell casting projectile mages. Ahri has a really bad time against Mel Some cool interactions with that one marksman item that reduces basic ability cooldowns with AA's and the other that fires two extra bolts that apply on-hit effects. (The bots apply overwhelm so you can mass execute but don't spread her AA's stacks ). Despite this, she really needs to burst cus she only has 2 spells consistently.

3 of her counters should be naut, leona and briar because she can't block their engage. Naut hook reflects to hooking naut pulling her towards him anyway like he wants and leona E pulls you to leona when reflected so you either don't reflect it or go into the enemy team. Briar ult reflects putting her in a briar ult form dashing to briar which she doesn't really want.

I mean they're only really counters if the Mel player is stupid and also doesn't learn from their mistakes yeah the W is a crucial part of her kit but it's an important skill to know when to use it, playing against those "counters" just means you need to be aware to NOT reflect those abilities, play like you would with any other champion and save the W for something else

Any engaging champion that does not mind the gap close effect like Naut/Amumu can really mess her up. You wanna block the CC your gonna end up pulling yourself towards them which is a form of poor repositioning and on a artillery mage that's one of her main weaknesses. Your simply pulling yourself to the enemy and getting out of position when your supposed to play from a distance.

Just to know if your ult get them low to the execute threshold it will execute them like if they are 75% hp and you ult them to the execute Marker they die that just crazy if you get little bet feed your just a nightmare to the adc life with crazy range i think even longer than cait

Its a swiftplay (New Gamemode replacing blind pick/quickplay). That mode is very accelerated with a lot more gold given to everyone and minions giving gold if ur near them even if you dont get the last hit. Thats why azzap is almost full build at min 20 and he gets a shutdown for more than 1000 gold once

I do feel lost following what Mel does idk if you did already in a different video but a quick ability breakdown would be much appreciated at the beginning of a video like this. Mels kit feels good and looks good, the vibe is really in but i really dont like her passive, i think it takes out from her concept and could atleast be a bit more original, as such i think the ultimate is fine but nothing much Something that im happy and quite surprised is that shes quite well balanced, hard but not stomping scalling champion, shes really resource heavy and i like the approach to a more traditional artilery mage If anyone is thinking shes broken heres my cup of tea of why not (NERD ALERT!) Her hp is decent-to-low and her resistentes are bad, Her magic resistance flat value is better tho so she isnt terrible against other mages only against AD mostly assasins wich she would be weak against any way so it doenst actually matter, She got a surprising amount of range and control in bot abilities and attack range, that along the AoE but only one burst, that alongside her skills staggering her movemment and being reasonable to dodge alongside the Root not being guaranteed at contact balances it out She's resource heavy( high cooldown with only 2 common-use abilities and high mana cost ) but shes high scalling both in stat pottential ( having dps a reasonable burst and Auto-Attack interaction) pure stat ( her abilites have many individual Total AP scalling ) and infinite-stacking interaction, YET because her scalling is individual and she is multi-projectile based she is vulnnerable to any magic resistance, and especially vulnerable to shields Also fuckin finally, she doenst have mobility nor a stable defensive/mechanic tool, her shield is high cooldown and only reduces-ignores up to 1 interaction, dont get me wrong the abilite is great but it was designed to be more like a fiora W not like Annies shield, wich i quite like because it makes her weak to close combat high engage caracters, especially Auto-Attack AD heavy ones or atleast AD-DPS ( wich is a big part of the jungle and mid roster ) She is a really humble caracter with reasonable acessible counter-play and decent playing potential, still brings more things to the table than example Vex, i dont quite like her execute mechanic because ir overloads the game with executions making other execution-dependent caracters feel weak and unnimportant, but i reasonably agree that its a decent design choice for her ( though she would still have the ult without it...did she need farming stablelizing that much?)

It's mainly going to be a damage nerf, to at least her ult, the execute is just too much to pair with that w. I also expect a change the reflected skill shot following people, that just seems busted and strange. Her shield, I thought, can do any amount of interactions for its duration.

@rockweirdo8147 i dont think the damage is the problem, she needs to have high priority damage because of being so squishy and so little utility, the problem is the frustration of a caracter having twô confirmed executions, she can tap to passívely execute or ult to actively, she has Auto Range and can build attack speed and her Ult is global so it feels bad to be killed by it In my opinion, they should make the Ult like Khartus where she gets some tipe of vulnerability or weaknness and after some time the ult aplies ( instead of almost-instant casting ) could give players the pontential to shield, zhonyas, maybe some type of interaction like Bard Ult or killing her, i just dont want her to be CC-vulnerable because she will become usseles unfortunately

with a 10 second starting q cd and 12 second on e you just won't be able to clear your camps. Other mage junglers have far lower cd's, or have 3 abilities that deal damage and not 2, or they are Nidalee/Elise who have 6 abilities (granted more like 4-5 for damage, all 6 of Nidalee's technically add damage though).

She honestly feels like a fairly fair artillery mage. The reflect requires skill, she's got no movement, her root is easily dodged, and she's resource intensive. She's good against other mages, but anything else has the ability to outplay or outlast her fairly easily. Baiting the reflect somehow is also an option, since it has a massive cooldown. Don't blindly throw a projectile ult at her.

When I look at a champion, I don't look at how much RIOT has currently buffed/nerfed their numbers - I look at the mechanics. And Mel... is not particularly impressive. Q's target selection is somewhat unreliable. W's timing is extremely tight for low payout, with a rather long cooldown. E is slow with no recast, easy for opponents to dodge. Really only Mel's ultimate to execute targets that ran away is that good - I expect that her best build will be all about getting her ultimate on the shortest possible cooldown, to execute targets on repeat. That isn't to say that Mel, with her current numbers, isn't a monster. But it's so easy to make any champion look like a monster when RIOT gives their numbers help. Give Yuumi's Q a 500% AP ratio and she'll have an 100% pick/ban rate. Numbers aren't the champion. Mel will get nerfed down and then feel extremely meh, because her kit doesn't do much. Just another no mobility mage.

Fizz pole is better lol. Lower cd, matchup agnostic, is a movement ability, like sure, some champs will really hate mel. But she's not even more egregious than champs released 10 years ago.
