You can't get no better than this for real country. Mel Tillis he's got that country classic down to a tee. I always thought when I seen him in movies Daddy had a stuttering problem all these years I just happen to to see him on dukes of Hazzard and he had a real bad stuttering problem so I just was listening to an interview and he wasn't stuttering at all but he did say he had a slight stuttering issue but I didn't hear it. So that was probably just an act part of his acting was a stuttering he had a little stuttering issue when he was younger and he went with it now you don't have it at least I didn't hear it in the last two interviews talk normal better than me LOL

A classic Mel Tillis song! You know, in my opinion, the 80's and 90's we're the two best decades for country music, but this 1979 gem by Mel Tillis is one of my favorites. Mel Tillis had one of the best voices in country music. Not to mention, handsome looks and a smile that wouldn't quit! He seemed like such a nice guy. Country music won't be the same without Mel Tillis. He will be missed.

I'm 32.. I have an interesting memory of this song. There was a short period when I was a little kid where my dad worked for Coca-Cola, making deliveries and filling machines. During that time, they used to fill the pop machines with a few lucky Dr. Pepper bottles that had a t-shirt and money in it, and my dad would bring a few home. And during that time, he came home saying that he called in and requested a song on the local radio station and that it would be airing on the radio at a certain time. So we stayed outside and listened to the radio in the car and heard my dad request this song, and of course listened to the song. I already knew and loved the song, but thought it was really cool that my dad was on the radio.
