Buddy Cannon, writer of one of these songs, played bass with Tillis prior to running Mel’s publishing company. I first met him after the company, Cedarwood,was sold to Polygram and he continued running the catalogue there. Buddy later had a lot of success as a producer, his most successful artist probably being Kenny Chesney.
