These trees are so invasive in South Florida. So nice to see them in their native setting.

Nice one mate! You learn something new everyday. I think it's great you are also teaching your next generation to tread lightly in our bush. Thumbs up for that. From reading up on treehouse building, one point they say is your better off putting one neat hole in a tree as it can heal around that much better. I wonder if drilling a small neat hole with a knife is feasible and any less damaging that an axe or machete? You could even bung up the hole with some bark after your done. I'm sure someone here with a green thumb might have an answer for that.

Hi. Just incase you're still curious 5 years later, I just read your question and am sharing something I just learnt from this video. Apparently they can plug up the hole with bark and mud. How resourceful! fb.watch/7UlhsGa_io/

Don't go trying it just for the heck of it mate, it's against the law to damage native fauna, only use this in survival situations. Bit of common sense

Perhaps, I know many Americans took some Australian trees back to America in order to make furniture and said trees surprisingly found it quite nice there and spread out of control.
