LOL I agree but Fijians like to claim they are a Polynesian island , well at least some of the ones on social media. The only Polynesians I see are the Rotuman of Fiji. Every Melanesian country has Polynesian and Micronesian outliers. Like the Mortlocks/Central Province in PNG, or the Bellona/Renell in Solomon Islands. Does that mean we suddenly claim to be Polynesian or Micronesian. LOL it's good they didn't include Fiji. We can claim them later or give them to the Polys, when they have stopped having an identity crisis.

@Rokolo Melona Exactly. I don't see PNG people claiming Polynesian\Micronesian because people from Mortlock, Central and Milne Bay Provinces look Polynesian/Micronesian. All Melanesians are mixed with Austronesians/Lapita People to an extent. Except PNG Highlanders (Papuans). The Malakus look totally more Southeasian but yet hold onto their Melanesian roots. Be proud of who you are and your culture no one can take that away from you.

@@soniikaye8547 We Fijians never claim to be polynesian or melanesian that term was given to us by white people who don't know us. But Fiji has strong ties to Tonga,Samoa through inter marrying for thousands of years. And yet we still have "melanesian" trait meaning the blond hair gene

Bro its that the English people entitled us to be as Melanesian but we don't care whether we r called Mela or poly we never claim to be any of the two sides. The thing is that we Fijian have martenal link to the Tongan and to the Samoan including Tuvaluan and the Kiribas.... In culture wise we have so much in common and the spirit we have are just the same. We don't take things way to serious and time managing isn't a thing at all. We laughed at our own silly jokes and we love to give bad compliment as a jokes to others... The way we dress the way we interact with people, the way we dance are much similar to the polynesian. But we r mostly proud to be part of the Melanesian group😍😍❤️.... But from my point of perspective either you r Mela, poly or micro... That doesn't count anything in life because we all are pacifican. 🇫🇯🇫🇯 Malo..
