Same! I studied French from grade 7 through 12. Haven't used it in the 30 years since I graduated so I started watching French movies and it is NOT coming back like everyone said it would. I had brain surgery to remove a tumor in 2012 and I think maybe that's why.

No, his father is Portuguese. Brazilians always remind me that she's Brazilian, just because of her name. She's French (from Martinique). She was born in France, she grew up in France, her mother is French and so is her stepfather (she never lived with her father and she's said several times that she has no connection with Portugal). A name doesn't mean anything these days, there's diversity everywhere and that's a good thing.

The French federation does a lot of stupid things, but no, they haven't ousted her. Her former coach helped to get her to the USA. She wanted to end her career and without Biles and the Landis, she certainly wouldn't be in gymnastics any more. She needed something different and she's close to her family, she can go to Martinique more often, which is really cool for her. And the Landis are probably the best coaches in the world.
