I actually felt that because I invited my friends to my bday party once but only one showed up. -Edit- my version of the story: Ari is Melanie's family member and they were planning Mel's bday party and Ari was supposed to go out to get Mel's friends and remind them to come and this is after she promised but she got caught up with a guy she met the day before this. And Mel did what any sensible person would do and go crazy.

My idea isn't that far, but Melanie and Ari are friends/sisters, then the guy Ari was with was actually Melanie's lover, Ari didn't know that, she met him few weeks before the party, so basically the guy cheated on Mel with Ari, Melanie found out about the affair, and went completely crazy And to add the thumbnail edit, remember I said that Ari didn't know he was Mel's lover, she actually found that out right after Mel went crazy, Ari left the guy and comforted Melanie (she looks like comforting Melanie on the thumbnail, I wanted to add that lol)
